Shivamogga, August 05: The state government has sanctioned funds for the construction of a retaining wall along the Sominakoppa lake canal in Ward No. 1 of Shivamogga City Corporation. This initiative aims to provide a permanent solution to the flooding issues faced in several localities. Local residents have expressed their gratitude to Legislative Council member D. S. Arun for his efforts.

Shivamogga, August 30: A team of officers led by the new Sub-Divisional Officer Dr. Maitri conducted a surprise visit to some hotels and government hostels in Shivamogga city on August 30 and inspected them. The surprise visit was conducted to find out the shortcomings related to food safety, cleanliness and sanitation. The heads of the hotels and hostels have been instructed to strictly follow the food safety rules.

Shivamogga, August 26: The fire brigade conducted a search operation on Thursday for a boy who had gone swimming in the Tunga canal – which passes through Abbalagere on the outskirts of Shivamogga city on August 26 But no trace of the boy has been found.
