ಬೀದರ್ (bidar) ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 11: ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಆಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀವಾ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿ ಸಿದ್ದರಾಮಯ್ಯ ನುಡಿದರು.
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘ ಮತ್ತು ಬೀದರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಿದ್ದ 40ನೇ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನವನ್ನು ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಊಹಾ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿಯಾದದ್ದು. ಕ್ಷುಲ್ಲಕ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ದಿನವಿಡೀ ತೋರಿಸುವವರು ಅದರ ಪರಿಣಾಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ಯೋಚಿಸಬೇಕು. ಗಂಡ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಜಗಳವನ್ನು ಇಡೀ ದಿನ ತೋರಿಸಿದರೆ ಅದರಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜಕ್ಕೆ ಏನು ಪ್ರಯೋಜನ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಆಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜಾರಿಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀವಾ ಎಂದು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು.
ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಮಹಾತ್ಮಗಾಂಧಿ ಇಬ್ಬರೂ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಾಗಿ ಧ್ವನಿ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಧ್ವನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸಮಾಜದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನ್ಯೂನ್ಯತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹೋಗಲಾಡಿಸಿ ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವ ಕಾಯಕವನ್ನು ಬಸವಾದಿ ಶರಣರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಶರಣರ ಆಶಯದ ಸಮಸಮಾಜ ಆಗದಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಸಮಾನತೆ ಮುಂದುವರೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಮುಂದುವರೆಯಲಿ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಪಟ್ಟಭದ್ರರ ಹಿತಾಸಕ್ತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರು.
ಬಸವಣ್ಣ ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿದ್ದ ಕರ್ಮಸಿದ್ಧಾಂತವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸುವವರು ಈಗ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಮೌಡ್ಯ ಆಚರಿಸುವವರೆಲ್ಲಾ ವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತರೇ ಎನ್ನುವುದು ಬೇಸರದ ಸಂಗತಿ ಎಂದರು.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ವೈಚಾರಿಕತೆ ಇರುವ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಪದ್ಧತಿ ಅಗತ್ಯ. ಯಾವ ದೇವರೂ ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡ ಅವಿದ್ಯಾವಂತನಾಗು ಅಂತಾಗಲೀ, ಕೆಳ ಜಾತಿಯಲ್ಲೇ ಹುಟ್ಟು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಅರಿವನ್ನು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಿಂದ ಆಗಬೇಕು. ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಕೇವಲ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಕೊಡುವವರಾಗದೆ, ಸಮಾಜ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗೂ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆರ್ಥಿಕ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಶಕ್ತಿ ಕೊಡುವ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಾರ 2013 ರಲ್ಲೂ ಮಾಡಿತ್ತು. ಈಗಲೂ ಮುಂದುವರೆಸಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಾವು ಬಡವರ ಪರವಾದ ಯೂನಿವರ್ಸಲ್ ಬೇಸಿಕ್ ಇನ್ ಕಂ ಆರ್ಥಿಕತೆಯನ್ನು ಪಾಲುಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕುಎಂದರು.
ಜಾತಿ ಸಮಾಜ ಚಲನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದ್ದು. ಸಮಾಜವನ್ನು ಚಲನಶೀಲಗೊಳಿಸಲು ವಸ್ತುನಿಷ್ಠವಾದ ವೃತ್ತಿಪರತೆಯನ್ನು ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಪಾಲಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.
ಕೆಲವು ಒಳ್ಳೆ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರೂ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆದರೆ ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಪೋರೇಟ್ ಹಿಡಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಪಟ್ಟಿವೆ. ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು ಸತ್ಯ ಬರೆದರೂ ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಂಪಾದಕರುಗಳು ಮಾಲೀಕರ ಒತ್ತಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮಣಿದು ಬದಲಾಯಿಸಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ನಾನು ಮಂತ್ರಿಯಾಗಿ 40 ವರ್ಷ ಆಯ್ತು. ನಮ್ಮ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಬರೆಯಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಇವತ್ತಿನವರೆಗೂ ನಾನು ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದರು.
ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರು ಇನ್ನೂ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಾನೂ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದರು. ಬೀದರ್ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಉಸ್ತುವಾರಿ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ಈಶ್ವರ್ ಖಂಡ್ರೆ, ಸಚಿವರುಗಳಾದ ರಹೀಂ ಖಾನ್, ಶರಣ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ್, ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳ ಮಾಧ್ಯಮ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾದ ಕೆ.ವಿ.ಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್, ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರತ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರ ಸಂಘದ ರಾಜ್ಯಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಶಿವಾನಂದ ತಗಡೂರು, ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಆನಂದ್ ದೇವಪ್ಪ, ಸಮ್ಮೇಳನದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಭಾಷಣಕಾರರಾಗಿರುವ ಹಿರಿಯ ಸಂಪಾದಕರಾದ ವಿಶ್ವೇಶ್ವರ ಭಟ್, ಸಂಸದರಾದ ಸಾಗರ್ ಖಂಡ್ರೆ, ಮಾಜಿ ಸಚಿವರಾದ ರಾಜಶೇಖರ್ ಪಾಟೀಲ್, ಗಡಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಸೋಮಣ್ಣ ಬೇವಿನಮರದ್ ಸೇರಿ ಹಲವು ಗಣ್ಯರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

“If husband-wife quarrels are shown all day, what benefit does society get?” – CM Siddaramaiah questions the media
Bidar, April 11: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that journalists must reflect on whether they are working to implement the ideals of the Constitution. He was speaking at the inauguration of the 40th State Journalists’ Conference organized by the Karnataka Working Journalists’ Association and the Bidar District Working Journalists’ Association.
He cautioned that speculative journalism is extremely dangerous. Those who broadcast trivial matters all day should also think about its consequences. “If husband-wife quarrels are shown all day, what benefit does society get?” he asked.
Journalists, he said, must ask themselves whether they are upholding the spirit of the Constitution. Both Ambedkar and Mahatma Gandhi were journalists who became the voice of the voiceless. Basavadi Sharanas worked to eliminate social inequalities and build society. If the vision of the Sharanas for an equal society is not realized, inequality will continue — which benefits only the privileged.
He criticized the growing acceptance of superstitious practices, noting that even educated people are following them, which is disappointing. Therefore, he stressed the need for a rational and scientific education system. “No god wants anyone to be born ignorant or in a lower caste. Journalists must help spread this awareness. They should not merely provide information but also contribute to social reform,” he said.
Siddaramaiah added that, in line with Ambedkar’s vision, the Congress government had worked to provide economic and social empowerment to all in 2013, and continues to do so now. “We are implementing a Universal Basic Income model for the poor. Journalists must understand this,” he said.
He emphasized that caste society is stagnant, and journalists must adopt objective professionalism to make society dynamic.
While acknowledging that there are good journalists, he noted that many media houses are under corporate influence. Even when journalists write the truth, editors sometimes change it under pressure from owners. “I have been a minister for 40 years. Not once have I asked anyone to write in favor of our government,” he said.
He added that the public still trusts newspapers, and he too continues to place his trust in them.
