Shimoga, August 09: In a striking example of civic responsibility, a resident of Shri Layout on the outskirts of Shimoga city has taken it upon himself to repair potholes and craters on the main road using his own money, after years of administrative neglect. The resident, Krishnappa — well known locally for his socially conscious initiatives — has personally spent thousands of rupees to fill and repair the damaged road, earning appreciation from fellow citizens.
