Theft Case – Scrap Dealer Arrested in Tirthahalli Tirthahalli, February 26: Police from Malur Station in Tirthahalli Taluk have arrested a scrap dealer accused of stealing RCC centering sheets kept near a house under construction. The arrested person has been identified as Rashid alias Mohiddin (42), a resident of Kumbrikodlu village near Shiruru in Byndoor Taluk, Udupi district. From the accused, police seized 150 iron centering sheets worth ₹1 lakh and the goods transport vehicle used in the crime. Under the guidance of Tirthahalli DySP Aravind N. Kalaguchi and Circle Inspector Rajshekhar, Sub-Inspector Sunil B.C. along with staff members Surakshith, Puneeth Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Chetan Kumar, Meghraj, Abhilash, Manju, Vasanth, Saduddin, Ramappa, and Suresh Naik successfully carried out the arrest. Theft details: Meghraj, a resident of Gabadi village in Kudige, Tirthahalli Taluk, was constructing a new house and had kept centering sheets worth ₹45,000 for RCC work. These sheets were stolen during the night. He filed a complaint at Malur Police Station. Police have now recovered the stolen centering sheets from the accused, along with 50 more sheets linked to another theft case in the jurisdiction of Anavatti Police Station.
