ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜುಲೈ 22: ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರಾದ ಮಹೇಶ್ ದಾನಪ್ಪ ಎಲಿಗಾರ್ ಅವರು ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕೆಲಸಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ, ಜುಲೈ 23 ರಂದು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನುಮದಿನವನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಆಚರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಟೀಚರ್ಸ್ ಲೇಔಟ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಪರಿಸರ ಕಾಳಜಿ ಮೆರೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಿಗೆ ಧನಸಹಾಯದ ನೆರವಿನಹಸ್ತ ಚಾಚಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ನೆರವಾಗುವ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಪಿಯುಸಿ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಬಡ ಕುಟುಂಬದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿನಿಗೆ ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕ ಕೊಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಜನುಮದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹೇಶ್ ದಾನಪ್ಪ ದಾನಪ್ಪ ಎಲಿಗಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ಜನುಮದಿನದ ವೇಳೆ ಕೇಕ್ ಮತ್ತೀತರ ಆಚರಣೆಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ತಗಲುವ ವೆಚ್ಚವನ್ನು ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಕೆಲಸಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಬಳಕೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಮೂಲಕ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನೆ’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಬಿ ರೇಣುಕೇಶ್, ಗೃಹಿಣಿ ನಾಗರತ್ನ, ಯುವ ಮುಖಂಡರಾದ ಕುಂಚೇನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಷಣ್ಮುಖ, ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರಾದ ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮೊದಲಾದವರಿದ್ದರು.
Shivamogga: Retired teacher celebrates birthday with environmental concern and helping hand | Shivamogga, July 22: Retired teacher Mahesh Danappa Eligar celebrated his birthday meaningfully on July 23 through social work.
He showed concern for the environment by planting trees in a park near Teachers Layout. He also extended a helping hand to the workers. He promised to help with the education of their children.
He also gave a textbook to a student from a poor family studying in the First PUC Science Department. He celebrated his birthday through these different activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Danappa Danappa Eligar said, ‘Instead of celebrating birthdays with cakes and other celebrations, I celebrate them by using the expenses incurred for social work.’
Journalist B Renukesh, housewife Nagaratna, youth leader Kunchenahalli Shanmukha, and worker Shivakumar were among those present on the occasion.
