ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 14: ಸಂವಿಧಾನ ಶಿಲ್ಪಿ, ಮಹಾನ್ ಮಾನವತಾವಾದಿ ಬಾಬಾ ಸಾಹೇಬ್ ಡಾ. ಬಿ ಆರ್ ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 14 ರಂದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಹೊರವಲಯ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಮ್ಮಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಕೆಹೆಚ್’ಬಿ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಕ್ಷೇಮಾಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಸಂಘದಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಬಾಬಾ ಸಾಹೇಬರ ಭಾವಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಪುಷ್ಪ ನಮನ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿ ಗೌರವಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಯಿತು. ನಂತರ ಸಿಹಿ ವಿತರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಮುಖ್ಯ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳಾಗಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು, ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪುರಸ್ಕೃತರಾದ ಮಹೇಶ್ ದಾನಪ್ಪ ಎಲಿಗಾರ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ಡಾ ಬಿ. ಆರ್. ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರು ಜಾತಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ, ಅಸಮಾನತೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಅವಿರತವಾಗಿ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ಅವರೊಬ್ಬ ಮಹಾನ್ ಮಾನವತವಾದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ನೊಂದವರು, ಶೋಷಿತರ ಧ್ವನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರ ಜನ್ಮದಿನದಂದು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರು ಸರ್ವಸಮಾನರು ಎಂಬ ಉದಾತ್ತ ಧ್ಯೇಯವನ್ನು ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.
ತಾಲೂಕು ಪಂಚಾಯ್ತಿ ಯೋಜನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಸಮಿತಿ ಉಪಾಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ದೂದ್ಯನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರು ವಿದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿದ್ಯಾಭ್ಯಾಸ ನಡೆಸಿ ಅತೀ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಪದವಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಊಟ, ನಿದ್ರೆ ತೊರೆದು ಜ್ಞಾನ ಸಂಪಾದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ತಮ್ಮ ಜ್ಞಾನವನ್ನು ಶೋಷಿತರ ಏಳ್ಗೆಗೆಗೆ ಶ್ರಮಿಸಿದರು. ಅಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯತೆ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದರು. ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯ ಸುಪುತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
ಸಮಾರಂಭದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರು ಹಾಗೂ ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಾದ ಬಿ ರೇಣುಕೇಶ್ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ಅಂಬೇಡ್ಕರ್ ಅವರು ದೇಶ ಮಾತ್ರವಲ್ಲದೆ ವಿಶ್ವ ಕಂಡ ಅಪ್ರತಿಮ ಧೀಮಂತ ನಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಅಸಮಾನತೆ, ಶೋಷಣೆ, ಅಸ್ಪೃಶ್ಯತೆ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಹಗಲಿರುಳು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಿಶ್ವದ ಯಾವುದೇ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿರದ ಆದರ್ಶಪ್ರಾಯವಾದ ಸಂವಿಧಾನವನ್ನು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ನೀಡಿದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅವರ ತತ್ವಾದರ್ಶ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಮಸಮಾಜ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದತ್ತ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಯಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರಾದ ನಾಗರತ್ನ, ರಾಜು, ಶೇಖರ್, ಮಂಜು, ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಉದಯಕುಮಾರ್, ಷಣ್ಮುಖ ಮೊದಲಾದವರಿದ್ದರು.
Shivamogga: Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Jayanti Program at Press Colony
Shivamogga, April 14: The birth anniversary of the architect of the Indian Constitution and great humanitarian, Babasaheb Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, was celebrated on April 14 at Press Colony on the outskirts of Shivamogga.
The program was organized by the KHB Press Colony Residents’ Welfare Association. Floral tributes were offered to Babasaheb’s portrait, followed by the distribution of sweets.
Retired teacher and awardee Mahesh Danappa Eligaar, who attended as chief guest, said: “Dr. B. R. Ambedkar fought tirelessly against the caste system and inequality. He was a great humanitarian, the voice of the oppressed and marginalized. On his birth anniversary, we must all adopt the noble principle that all human beings are equal.”
Taluk Panchayat Planning and Development Committee Vice President Doodhyanayak spoke: “Ambedkar pursued education abroad and earned numerous degrees. He sacrificed food and sleep in his quest for knowledge, which he used for the upliftment of the oppressed. He fought against untouchability and remains a proud son of our nation.”
Presiding over the program, Residents’ Association President and senior journalist B. Renukesh said: “Ambedkar was an unparalleled intellectual leader recognized not only in India but across the world. He fought day and night against social inequality, exploitation, and untouchability. He gifted our nation a constitution that is exemplary and unmatched anywhere in the world. We must move forward guided by his ideals and vision of building an equal society.”
Local residents including Nagaratna, Raju, Shekhar, Manju, and students such as Udaykumar and Shanmukh were present at the event.
