ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 15: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನ-ವಾಹನ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿರುವ 5 ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಜಪಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲಿವೇಟರ್, ಲಿಫ್ಟ್ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಸ್ಕೈ ವಾಕರ್ ಗಳು ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಲಿವೆ.
ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಲೋಕಸಭಾ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಬಿ ವೈ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರರವರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 14 ರಂದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿ ಮಂದಿರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಸದರು ವಿವಿಧ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ಸಭೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸ್ಕೈ ವಾಕರ್ ಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ವಿಸ್ತೃತ ಯೋಜನಾ ವರದಿ ಸಿದ್ದಪಡಿಸಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಭೂ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಇಲಾಖೆಗೆ ಕಾಲಮಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸದರಿ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಶಾಸಕ ಎಸ್ ಎನ್ ಚನ್ನಬಸಪ್ಪ, ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ಮಾಯಣ್ಣಗೌಡ, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಯೋಜನಾ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಾದ ಅನೂಪ್ ಶರ್ಮಾ, ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಲೋಕೇಶ್, ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಸದರ ಸಲಹೆಗಾರರಾದ ಪೀರ್ ಪಾಷಾ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
ಎಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಸ್ಕೈ ವಾಕರ್ ಗಳು?
*** ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣದ ಅಶೋಕ ಸರ್ಕಲ್, ಸರ್ಕ್ಯೂಟ್ ಹೌಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಲ್, ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆ ಸರ್ಕಲ್, ಆಲ್ಕೋಳ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಂಆರ್’ಎಸ್ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಕೈವಾಕರ್ ಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಲು ನಿರ್ಧರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ
ಸದರಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದೆ. ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಜೀವ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿಡಿದು ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ದಾಟಿ ಹೋಗುವಂತಹ ದುಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹಲವು ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಸಾವು-ನೋವಿಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಅದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪದ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಶಾಲೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯು ನೂರಾರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಗಂಡಾಂತರಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ದಾಟಿ ಶಾಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಹರಸಾಹಸ ಪಡುವಂತಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹಲವು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ರಸ್ತೆ ದಾಟುವ ವೇಳೆ ಅಪಘಾತಕ್ಕೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಸಂಸದ ಬಿ ವೈ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರ ಕ್ರಮ
ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಬಸ್ ನಿಲ್ದಾಣ, ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದೀಗ ಸಂಸದ ಬಿ ವೈ ರಾಘವೇಂದ್ರರವರು ಸದರಿ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜಪಾನ್ ದೇಶದ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಸ್ಕೈವಾಕರ್ ಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದು ಸ್ವಾಗತಾರ್ಹ ಸಂಗತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Japanese-Model Skywalks to be Built at 5 Major Circles in Shivamogga City

Renukesh | Shivamogga, April 15: In response to long-standing demands from citizens, advanced skywalks with elevator and lift facilities—modeled after Japan—will be constructed at five busy circles within the Shivamogga City Corporation limits along the national highways, where pedestrian and vehicle congestion is high.
Lok Sabha member B. Y. Raghavendra has issued strict instructions to officials of the National Highways Development Authority regarding this project. On April 14, he held a meeting with officials from various departments at the Tourist Guest House in Shivamogga. He directed them to prepare a detailed project report in collaboration with relevant departments and submit it to the Union Ministry of Road Transport within the stipulated time.
The meeting was attended by Shivamogga City MLA S. N. Channabasappa, City Corporation Commissioner Mayannagowda, National Highway Project Division Head Anoop Sharma, Engineer Lokesh, retired National Highway Engineer and MP’s advisor Peer Pasha, among others.
Where will the skywalks be built?
- Ashoka Circle near the bus stand
- Circuit House Circle
- Government School Circle at Gadikoppa
- Alkola Circle
- MRS Circle
Long-standing demand: These circles have witnessed heavy pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Pedestrians have been risking their lives to cross the highways, and several accidents have already occurred. The Gadikoppa Government School Circle, in particular, has been hazardous for hundreds of students who struggle to cross the highway to reach school or home. Several students have met with accidents while crossing.
MP’s action: Due to these issues, citizens had been demanding measures to ensure smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement at bus stand, Gadikoppa, and other major circles for many years. No action had been taken until now. The initiative by MP B. Y. Raghavendra to construct advanced skywalks modeled after Japan at these circles has been welcomed and appreciated by the citizens.
