ಏನೀದು ಘಟನೆ? : ದುರ್ಗಿಗುಡಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಇತಿಹಾಸ್ ಕಲೆಕ್ಷನ್ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 16 ರಂದು ಗಾಯತ್ರಿ ಎಂಬುವರು ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಖರೀದಿಗೆಂದು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಿದ್ದ ವ್ಯಾನಿಟಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ನ್ನು ಮರೆತು ಅಂಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತೆರಳಿದ್ದರು.
ಅಂಗಡಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಾದ ಸ್ವಾತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಗೀತರವರು, ಸದರಿ ವ್ಯಾನಿಟಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ನ್ನು ಮಾಲೀಕರಾದ ಮಾರ್ತಾಂಡರವರಿಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ವ್ಯಾನಿಟಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ತೆರೆಯದೆ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅದನ್ನು ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಅಂಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ವ್ಯಾನಿಟಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ಮರೆತು ಬಂದಿರುವುದು ನೆನಪಾಗಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯು ಜಯನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ಪೊಲೀಸರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಂಗಡಿಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಅಂಗಡಿ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ವ್ಯಾನಿಟಿ ಬ್ಯಾಗ್ ನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಮೂಲಕ ಮಹಿಳೆಗೆ ಹಸ್ತಾಂತರಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಅದರೊಳಗೆ ಸರಿಸುಮಾರು 5 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ಮೌಲ್ಯದ ಚಿನ್ನಾಭರಣ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಬೆಲೆ ಬಾಳುವ ವಸ್ತುಗಳಿದ್ದು, ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಕೂಡ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
ಅಂಗಡಿ ಮಾಲೀಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕತೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚಿ, ಜಯನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 21 ರಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.

What was the incident? : Gayatri had come to the Itihasa Collection clothing store on Durgigudi Road on April 16 to buy clothes. At that time, she had forgotten the vanity bag she was carrying and left it in the store.
The store staff, Swathi and Sangeetha, had handed over the said vanity bag to the owner, Marthanda. The owner had left it in the store without opening the vanity bag. The woman, remembering that she had forgotten the vanity bag, went to the Jayanagar police station and informed. She went to the store with the police.
At this time, the shop owner had handed over the vanity bag to the woman through the police. Inside it were approximately Rs. 5 lakh worth of gold ornaments and other valuables, and everything was safe.
The shop owner and staff were honored with an invitation and felicitation ceremony at the Jayanagar Police Station on April 21st, in appreciation of their honesty.
