ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜೂನ್ 09: ರಾತ್ರೋರಾತ್ರಿ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ 1 ನೇ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಸದರಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ಚೌಡಮ್ಮ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಸೇತುವೆ ಸಮೀಪ, ಸಹ್ಯಾದ್ರಿ ನಗರ, ಜೆ ಹೆಚ್ ಪಟೇಲ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆ, ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪದ ಪಂಚಮುಖಿ ಆಂಜನೇಯ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಗಳು ಹಾಳಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
ಹಲವು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ದುರಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಹೇಳಿಕೆಯನ್ನು 8/6/2026 ರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ‘ಉದಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ’ ಯೂಟ್ಯೂಬ್ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ಚಾನಲ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸಾರ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಮಳೆಗಾಲದ ವೇಳೆ, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಗಳು ಹಾಳಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತೀವ್ರ ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಅಹವಾಲು ತೋಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ವರದಿ ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಎಲೆಕ್ಟ್ರೀಕಲ್ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಪಾಲಕ ಅಭಿಯಂತರ (ಎಇಇ) ಹರೀಶ್ ರವರು, ತತ್’ಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಗಳ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದವರಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಅದರಂತೆ ತಡರಾತ್ರಿಯಿಂದ ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಗಳನ್ನು ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

*** ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮಳೆಗಾಲದ ವೇಳೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪಗಳ ಸಮರ್ಪಕ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆಗೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಂದ ಯಾವುದೇ ದೂರುಗಳು ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಶಾಸಕ ಎಸ್ ಎನ್ ಚನ್ನಬಸಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಬೀದಿ ದೀಪ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆದಾರರಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟುನಿಟ್ಟಿನ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು.
Shivamogga: Proper street lights on the state highway overnight!
Shivamogga, June 09: An incident occurred on the 1st Ward Sominakoppa State Highway of Shivamogga City where the Municipal Corporation repaired the street lights overnight.
The street lights were damaged in many places near the Chaudamma Temple Bridge on the said state highway, near the Panchamukhi Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Sahyadri Nagar, JH Patel Layout, Sominakoppa.
The repairs had not been done for several days. The statement of the local residents in this regard was broadcast on the ‘Udaya Sakshi’ YouTube news channel on the night of 8/6/2026.
During the rainy season, citizens had complained about the damage to the street lights on the state highway, causing severe inconvenience to people and vehicles.
After noticing the report, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of the Municipal Electrical Department, Harish, instructed the concerned to take immediate action to repair the street lights.
Accordingly, the damaged street lights on the state highway were repaired from late night to early morning. Citizens have appreciated this work of the municipal administration.
MLA Channabasappa’s strict instructions!
*** During the current rainy season, steps should be taken to ensure proper maintenance of street lights in the Shivamogga city limits. MLA SN Channabasappa had recently given strict instructions to the municipal administration and the contractors who maintain street lights, saying that no complaints should be made by citizens in this regard.
