ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜೂನ್ 15: ‘ಬೇಲಿಯೇ ಎದ್ದು ಹೊಲ ಮೇಯ್ದಿತು..!’ ಎಂಬ ಗಾದೆ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಜಾಗ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣೆಯ ಗುರುತರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ತೆರವುಗೊಂಡಿದೆ..!
ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಗಳತೆ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ, ಆರ್’ಟಿಓ ಆಫೀಸ್ ಪಕ್ಕದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ನಿಗಮ ನಿಯಮಿತ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿಂದ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಆರೋಪ ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿತ್ತು.
ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ‘ಉಪ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಉಪ ವಿಭಾಗ’ ಎಂಬ ಒಕ್ಕಣೆಯ ದೊಡ್ಡದಾದ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.ಇದರಿಂದ ಸದರಿ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸಲು ಆಗದಂತಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದರೂ ಸದರಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಬಗ್ಗಿ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾದ ದುಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿತ್ತು.

ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ‘ಉದಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ’ ಡಿಜಿಟಲ್ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ವರದಿ ಬಿತ್ತರಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಸದರಿ ವರದಿಯು ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ವಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಚರ್ಚೆಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿತ್ತು. ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಲೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಕ ಟೀಕೆಗಳು ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿದ್ದವು. ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಆಗ್ರಹ ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರ ಕ್ರಮ : ವರದಿ ಗಮನಿಸಿದ ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ದೇವರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ಮಾಡಿ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದ ನಾಮಫಲಕ ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಂತೆ, ಮುಜುಗರ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸ್ವತಃ ಕಚೇರಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳೇ ಭಾನುವಾರ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಕಚೇರಿ ಕಾಂಪೌಂಡ್ ಒಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮೊದಲಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಸದರಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕ, ಕಚೇರಿ ಕಾಂಪೌಂಡ್ ಒಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಇತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ತದನಂತರ ಕಾಂಪೌಂಡ್ ಹೊರಭಾಗದಿಂದ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಗೆ ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಜಾಗ ಅತಿಕ್ರಮಿಸಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕ ಹಾಕುವ ಜರೂರತ್ತು ಏನಿತ್ತು? ಎಂಬುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಯಕ್ಷಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ.
Shimoga City: Footpath Encroachment by Forest Department Office Finally Cleared!
Shimoga, June 15: As the proverb goes, “The fence itself grazed the field..!” — the very office entrusted with safeguarding government land, the Forest Department, had itself encroached upon a public footpath in Shimoga city. That encroachment has now finally been removed.
Just a short distance from the District Commissioner’s office, next to the RTO office, the Karnataka Forest Development Corporation Limited’s office was accused of blocking the footpath. A large iron nameplate reading “Deputy Conservator of Forests, Shimoga Sub-Division” had been installed across the pedestrian space. This made it difficult for people to walk, forcing them to squeeze and bend awkwardly to pass.
Digital news outlet Udaya Saakshi had reported on the issue, sparking widespread public discussion and criticism. Citizens questioned how a government office itself could be responsible for such a lapse, and demanded the removal of the obstruction.
Traffic Police Action: After noticing the report, Traffic Inspector Devaraj instructed his staff to remove the nameplate. However, before police intervention, the office staff themselves dismantled the board on Sunday to avoid embarrassment. It has now been reinstalled inside the office compound.
Originally, the nameplate had been placed inside the compound, but later it was shifted outside onto the footpath. Why it was necessary to encroach upon pedestrian space in the first place remains an unanswered question.
