ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 18: ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಮುಂಗಾರು ಪೂರ್ವ ಮಳೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ. ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 18 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲು, ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ, ಗುಡುಗು ಸಹಿತ ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆಯಾಯಿತು.
ಸುಮಾರು 1 ಗಂಟೆಗೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಕಾಲ ಮಳೆಯಾಯಿತು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ನಗರದ ಹಲವು ರಸ್ತೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಶಿ ರಾಶಿ ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲುಗಳು ಮಳೆ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ದೃಶ್ಯ ಕಂಡುಬಂದಿತು.
ಹಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನರದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಕವಾಗಿ ಬಿದ್ದ ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲು ಮಳೆಯು ನಾಗರಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಕುತೂಹಲ, ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂತಸದ ಭಾವ ಮೂಡಿಸಿತ್ತು.
ಗಾಳಿಯ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ, ಉತ್ತರ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನಲ್ಲಿನ ವಾಯುಭಾರ ಕುಸಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಅತಿಯಾದ ಬಿಸಿಲು ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲು ಮಳೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹವಾಮಾನ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಮೂಲಗಳು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ.
ಧರಾಶಾಹಿ : ಬಿರುಗಾಳಿ ಮಳೆಯು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ಅವಾಂತರ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದೆ. ಅಶೋಕ ನಗರದ ಎಆರ್’ಬಿ ಕಾಲೋನಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೆಂಗಿನ ಮರ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಂಬಗಳು ರಸ್ತೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರುಳಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.
ಶುಭ ಮಂಗಳ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣ ಮಂದಿರ ಸಮೀಪ ಮರ ಬಿದ್ದ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ನಾಲ್ಕು ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಂಬಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೆಗ್ಗಾನ್ ಆಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರದ ರಂಬೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಆಟೋವೊಂದು ಜಖಂಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
ವಿನೋಬನಗರ ಮುಖ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಹಲವೆಡೆ ಜಲಾವೃತವಾಗಿದ್ದು,ಇದರಿಂದ ಕೆಲ ಸಮಯ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಉಳಿದಂತೆ ನಗರದ ವಿವಿಧೆಡೆ ಆಲಿಕಲ್ಲು ಹೊಡೆತಕ್ಕೆ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಗಾಜಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ವರದಿಗಳು ಬಂದಿವೆ.
Shimoga: Heavy Rain with Hail, Trees and Electric Poles Uprooted!
Shimoga, March 18: Pre-monsoon rains continue across the district. On the evening of March 18, Shimoga city and surrounding taluks experienced heavy rain accompanied by hail, strong winds, and thunder.
The downpour lasted for more than an hour. During this time, heaps of hailstones were seen flowing along with rainwater on several city roads. After many years, such widespread hail in Shimoga city created curiosity, surprise, and even joy among residents.
According to weather department sources, variations in wind, a drop in air pressure in the north-south direction, and excessive heat were the reasons behind the hailstorm.
Damage: The storm caused havoc in several parts of Shimoga city. In Ashok Nagar’s ARB Colony, coconut trees and electric poles fell across the road. Near Shubha Mangala Kalyana Mandira, a fallen tree damaged four electric poles. In the Meggan Hospital premises, a tree branch fell on an auto-rickshaw, damaging it.
Several stretches of the main road in Vinobanagar were waterlogged, disrupting traffic for some time. Reports also indicate that hailstones damaged vehicle windshields in different parts of the city.
