ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ (bhadravati news), ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 03: ಕಚೇರಿ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಯೋರ್ವರಿಂದ 1 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ಲಂಚ ಪಡೆಯುವ ವೇಳೆ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ಬಿಇಓ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯವರ್ತಿಯೋರ್ವನನ್ನು ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ನಗರದ ಬಿಇಓ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 02 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಬಿಇಓ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರಪ್ಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯವರ್ತಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತ ಬಲೆಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದವರೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಭ್ರಷ್ಟಾಚಾರ ಪ್ರತಿಬಂಧಕ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಘಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಬಿಇಓ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರಾಗಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಲಿಂಗರಾಜು ಎಂಬುವರು 2011 ರಿಂದ 2023 ರವರೆಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಇಲಾಖೆಯಿಂದ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ವಾರ್ಷಿಕ ವೇತನ, ಬಡ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಭತ್ಯೆ ಮಂಜೂರು ಮಾಡುವಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಬಿಇಓ ಹಾಗೂ ಮೇಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕಚೇರಿಗೆ ಎಡತಾಕಿದ್ದರು.
ಆದರೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯಗಳು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಬಿಇಓ ಹಾಗೂ ಮಧ್ಯವರ್ತಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡು, ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ದೊರಕಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕಾದರೆ 4 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ಲಂಚ ನೀಡುವಂತೆ ಡಿಮ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಲಿಂಗರಾಜು ಅವರು ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತಕ್ಕೆ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು. ನಂತರ ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 2 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ಕಚೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ 1 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ನೀಡುವ ವೇಳೆ, ಲೋಕಾಯುಕ್ತ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ದಾಳಿ ನಡೆಸಿ ಆರೋಪಿತ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಹಣದ ಸಮೇತ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Bhadravati BEO and Broker Caught in Lokayukta Trap!
Bhadravati, March 03: The Bhadravati Block Education Officer (BEO) and a middleman were arrested by Lokayukta police while accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh from an office staff member. The incident took place at the BEO office in Bhadravati city on the evening of March 2. The accused have been identified as BEO Nagendrappa and broker Manjunath. A case has been registered against them under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Background of the incident: Lingaraju, who was working as a superintendent in the BEO office, had repeatedly submitted requests between 2011 and 2023 to the BEO and higher officials for approval of his annual salary, promotions, and other allowances from the Education Department. Despite his continuous follow-ups, no benefits were granted.
Meanwhile, BEO Nagendrappa and broker Manjunath allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹4 lakh to process these benefits. Teacher Lingaraju then filed a complaint with the Lokayukta. Acting on this, Lokayukta police conducted a raid on March 2 evening, catching the accused red-handed while accepting ₹1 lakh in cash. Both were taken into custody along with the money.
