ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 29: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಎಸ್. ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪ (ಗೋಪಾಲಗೌಡ ಬಡಾವಣೆ) ರಸ್ತೆ ಯಲ್ಲಿ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳ ತೆರವು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯನ್ನು, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 29 ರ ಸಂಜೆ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಜಂಟಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.
ಆಲ್ಕೋಳ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಸಮೀಪದಿಂದ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ತೆರವು ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆಯು, ಗೋಪಾಳ ಮುಖ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆಯವರೆಗೂ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಎರಡೂ ಬದಿ, ಬೀದಿ ಬದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸದಂತೆ ಸೂಚನೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಗೊಂದಲ : ಆಲ್ಕೋಳ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತಿಂಡಿ – ತಿನಿಸು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು, ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯ ಹೈಟೆನ್ಷನ್ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಂಬದ ಕೆಳಭಾಗದ ಖಾಲಿ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಗೊಂದಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದೆ. ಪರ – ವಿರೋಧ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳು ವ್ಯಕ್ತವಾಗಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ.
‘ಆಲ್ಕೋಳ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಜೆ ವೇಳೆ, ತಿಂಡಿ – ತಿನಿಸುಗಳ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಕೆಲ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವು ದಶಕಗಳಿಂದ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಗೋಪಾಳಗೌಡ ಬಡಾವಣೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆಗೆ ಎಸ್ ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪ ಹೆಸರು ನಾಮಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ, ಸೂಕ್ತ ಪುನರ್ವಸತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸದೆ ಸ್ಥಳಾಂತರಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆಡಳಿತ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಬರುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಇದೀಗ ಹೈಟೆನ್ಷನ್ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಲೈನ್ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಸೂಚಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮತ್ತೊಂದೆಡೆ, ಸಮೀಪದ ಕಟ್ಟಡ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿವೇಶನಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಸದರಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸಬಾರದು. ಬೇರೆ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಡೆಸುವಂತೆ ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಗೊಂದಲವಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಕೆಲ ಬೀದಿ ಬದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಿ : ಸದರಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಂಖ್ಯೆಯ ಬೀದಿ ಬದಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸದರಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಕುಟುಂಬ, ಜೀವನ ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಹಾಗೂ ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗದ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಕೆಲ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಸ್ಥರು ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ನಗರದ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ರಸ್ತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಸವಾರ್ ಲೈನ್ ರಸ್ತೆ ಬಳಿಯಿರುವ ಫುಡ್ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಸ್ ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಸೂಕ್ತ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಫುಡ್ ಕೋರ್ಟ್’ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಿಗಳು ಆಡಳಿತಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಎಸ್ ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲು ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಇದು ಪರ – ವಿರೋಧ ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವೆಲ್ಲ ತಿರುವು ಪಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂಬುವುದನ್ನು ಕಾದು ನೋಡಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
Shivamogga: Street vendors evicted from S Bangarappa Road – Confusion continues!

Shivamogga, April 29: The Municipal Corporation and the Traffic Police jointly conducted an operation to evict footpath vendors from S. Bangarappa (Gopalagowda Layout) Road in Shivamogga City on the evening of April 29.
The operation, which started near Alcohol Circle, was carried out up to Gopala Main Road. Instructions have been given not to conduct street vendors on either side of the road.
Confusion: The food vendors on the road near Alcohol Circle have been shifted to an empty space under the high-tension electricity pole on the side of the road. This has led to a lot of confusion. Pro- and anti-opposition opinions have started to be expressed.
‘In the evening, food vendors are sold on the side of the road near Alcohol Circle. Some traders have been doing business for the past several decades. After naming the main road of Gopalagowda Layout after S. Bangarappa, the administration has been carrying out the task of relocating them without providing proper rehabilitation.
Now, the corporation administration and traffic police have instructed them to conduct business at the place where the high-tension power line passes. On the other hand, the residents of nearby buildings and plots should not conduct business at the said place. They are demanding that they conduct business at another place. There is a lot of confusion about this, say some street vendors.
Take action: There are a large number of street vendors on the said road. They rely on the said business to maintain their families and livelihood. For this reason, some traders request that they should be allowed to do business in a way that does not disturb the local citizens and vehicular traffic.
Traders urge the administration to build ‘food courts’ at appropriate places on S. Bangarappa Road, similar to the food courts near the city’s Park Layout Main Road and Sawar Line Road, and allow business.
Overall, work is underway to restrict footpath trading to allow for smooth movement of people and vehicles on S Bangarappa Road. This has led to a pro-opposition debate, and it remains to be seen what turn it will take in the coming days.
