ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಮೇ 23: ವಾಕಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವೃದ್ದೆಯೋರ್ವರ ಮಾಂಗಲ್ಯ ಸರ ಅಪಹರಿಸಿದ್ದ ಆರೋಪದ ಮೇರೆಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ವಿನೋಬನಗರ ಠಾಣೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಗೋಪಾಳದ ಚಾಲುಕ್ಯನಗರದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಭರತ್ (21) ಹಾಗೂ ತುಂಗಾನಗರದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಅಬೀದ್ (19) ಬಂಧಿತ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಿಂದ 1 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ಮೌಲ್ಯದ 07 ಗ್ರಾಂ ತೂಕದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಸರ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಿದ ಬೈಕ್ ನ್ನು ಪೊಲೀಸರು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಡಿವೈಎಸ್ಪಿ ಸಂಜೀವ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಟಿ ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಡಿ ಕೆ, ಸಬ್ ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ತಿರುಮಲೇಶ್ ಜಿ, ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳಾದ ಸಿಪಿಸಿ ರಾಜು ಕೆ ಆರ್, ಚಂದ್ರನಾಯ್ಕ ಬಿ, ಮಲ್ಲಪ್ಪ ಎಸ್ ಜಿ, ಅರುಣಕುಮಾರ್ ಎನ್ ಕೆ, ಮನುಶಂಕರ್ ರವರು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಸೂರ್ಯ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯ ನಿವಾಸಿ 73 ವರ್ಷದ ವೃದ್ದೆಯೋರ್ವರು 13/05/2026 ರಂದು ವಾಕಿಂಗ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವೇಳೆ, ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳು ಮಾಂಗಲ್ಯ ಸರ ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಪರಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ವಿನೋಬನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
Shimoga Vinobanagar Police Operation: Two Arrested for Snatching Elderly Woman’s Mangalsutra!
Shimoga, May 23: The Vinobanagar Police have arrested two individuals accused of snatching the mangalsutra of an elderly woman while she was out walking.
The arrested accused have been identified as Bharath (21), a resident of Chalukyanagar in Gopala, and Mohammad Abid (19), a resident of Tunganagar.
From them, the police recovered a gold chain weighing 7 grams worth ₹1 lakh, along with the bike used in the crime.
Under the guidance of DYSP Sanjeev Kumar T, Inspector Santosh Kumar D.K. led the operation, assisted by Sub-Inspector Thirumalesh G and staff members CPC Raju K.R., Chandranayak B, Mallappa S.G., Arun Kumar N.K., and Manushankar, who successfully arrested the accused.
Background of the case: On 13-05-2026, a 73-year-old woman from Surya Layout was walking when the accused arrived on a bike, snatched her mangalsutra, and fled. A case was registered at the Vinobanagar Police Station in connection with this incident.
