ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜೂನ್ 12: ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ-ಕುಂದಾಪುರ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ – 52 ರ ಹುಲಿಕಲ್ ಘಾಟ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಜೂನ್ 12 ರಿಂದ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಲಘು ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಡಳಿತ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ಕುರಿತು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಅಪರ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ್ ವಿ. ಅವರು ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಆದೇಶ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 9 ರಂದು ಹುಲಿಕಲ್ ಘಾಟ್ನ ಹೇರ್ಪಿನ್ ತಿರುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸುಮಾರು 12 ಮೀಟರ್ ಎತ್ತರದ ಕಾಂಕ್ರೀಟ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಕೆಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ 5 ಅಡಿಯಷ್ಟು ಭೂಕುಸಿತ ಉಂಟಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲೂ ಬಿರುಕುಗಳು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಮಾಸ್ತಿ ಕಟ್ಟೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊಸ ಅಂಗಡಿವರೆಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಮಾದರಿಯ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರವನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಿಷೇಧಿಸಿ ಬದಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಗದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ನಂತರದ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಿಕರ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಚಂಡಿಕಾಂಬ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಬಳಿ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡು ವಾಹನಗಳ ಅದಲು-ಬದಲು (ಷಟಲ್ ಸರ್ವೀಸ್) ಮೂಲಕ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಘಾಟ್ ರಸ್ತೆಯ ತಿರುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ, ರಸ್ತೆಯ ಮಟ್ಟದವರೆಗೆ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಏರಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಲೀನ್ ಕಾಂಕ್ರೀಟ್ ಹಾಕಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ತಾತ್ಕಾಲಿಕವಾಗಿ ದುರಸ್ತಿಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಲೋಕೋಪಯೋಗಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಪಾಲಕ ಇಂಜಿನಿಯರ್, ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧೀಕ್ಷಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸಾರಿಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ವರದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ ಈ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಘಾಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಭೂಕುಸಿತ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಗಾಗಿ ಮುನ್ನೆಚ್ಚರಿಕಾ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಘಾಟಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಫಲಕಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೂಚನಾ ಫಲಕಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಕಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ರಾತ್ರಿ ವೇಳೆ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರ ಅನುಕೂಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ‘ಕ್ಯಾಟ್ ಐ’ ಹಾಗೂ ಸೋಲಾರ್ ಸ್ಟಡ್ಸ್ಗಳನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷತೆಯನ್ನು ಖಾತ್ರಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
“ಮೋಟಾರು ವಾಹನ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ 1988 ರ ಕಲಂ 115 ಹಾಗೂ 116 ರನ್ವಯ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರ ನಿಷೇಧದ ಆದೇಶವನ್ನು ರದ್ದುಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೂನ್ 12, 2026 ರಿಂದ ಜಾರಿಗೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ-52 ರ ಬಾಳೆಬರೆ ಘಾಟ್ (ಹುಲಿಕಲ್ ಘಾಟ್) ಮೂಲಕ ಕೇವಲ ಲಘು ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ ಆದೇಶಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಅಪರ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ್ ವಿ. ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Light vehicles allowed to ply in Hulikal Ghat
Shivamogga, June 12: The district administration has allowed light vehicles to ply in the Hulikal Ghat area of the Thirthahalli-Kundapur State Highway – 52, effective from June 12. Additional Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga district Abhishek V. has issued an official order in this regard.
On April 9, while work was underway at the hairpin bend of Hulikal Ghat, a 5-foot landslide occurred at the bottom of the 12-meter-high concrete road.
Since cracks appeared on the top of the road as well, for safety reasons, the ply of all types of vehicles was completely banned from Masti Katte to the new store and an alternative route was arranged.
Later, for the convenience of passengers, vehicles were allowed to ply through a shuttle service using stairs near the Chandikamba temple.
At present, a barrier has been constructed at the bend of Ghat Road and the road has been temporarily repaired by laying lean concrete with soil level up to the road level. This decision has been taken after reviewing the report and proposal of the Public Works Department Executive Engineer, Superintendent of Police and Regional Transport Officers.
As there is a possibility of another landslide at Ghat, precautionary measures have been taken for the safety of the public. Barriers and warning signs have been installed on Ghat Road. Information and instruction boards have been put up.
For the convenience of motorists at night, ‘Cat Eye’ and solar studs have been installed to ensure safety.
“The order of complete ban on vehicle movement imposed earlier under Sections 115 and 116 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 has been revoked. With effect from June 12, 2026, only light vehicles will be allowed to travel through the Balebar Ghat (Hulikal Ghat) on State Highway-52,” said Additional District Magistrate Abhishek V.
