ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shimoga), june 17: ಭಾಷೆಯ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ, ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಮಿತಿ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಜಿ.ಎಸ್.ನಾರಾಯಣ ರಾವ್ ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ನಗರದ ಎನ್ಇಎಸ್ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಆಫ್ ಅಡ್ವಾನ್ಸ್ಡ್ ಸ್ಟಡೀಸ್ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಧವಾರ ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ನವೀಕೃತ ಕಟ್ಟಡದ ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಕಳೆದ 17 ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ವಿದ್ಯಾಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಅನೇಕ ಸವಾಲುಗಳನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಿದರು, ಇಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಹೆಮ್ಮರವಾಗಿ ಬೆಳೆದು ನಿಂತಿದ್ದು, ಸಾವಿರಾರು ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು ಇದರ ನೆರಳಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಧಕರಾಗಿ ಹೊರಹೊಮ್ಮಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಹನೆ ಇದ್ದವನು ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಜವಾದ ಉತ್ತಮ ನಾಯಕನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬ ಮಾತು ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ.
ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೆ ಶಿಕ್ಚಣದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ಬೇಕಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಆತ್ಮಸಾಕ್ಷಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಗೌರವ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಈ ಜಗತ್ತು ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಓದಲಾಗದ ಪುಸ್ತಕ. ಯಾವುದೇ ಶುಲ್ಕವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಠ ಕಲಿಸುವ ಅತ್ಯುತ್ತಮ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಬದುಕು. ಜೀವನಾನುಭವ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಪಾಠ ಕಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ವಾಸ್ತವತೆಯ ಅರಿವಿನ ಮೂಲಕ ಬದುಕು ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸಿದಾಗ ಮಾತ್ರ ನಿಜವಾದ ಉನ್ನತಿ ಸಾಧ್ಯ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಎನ್ಇಎಸ್ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಎಸ್.ಎನ್.ನಾಗರಾಜ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ಮೂಲಭೂತ ಸೌಕರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುವುದು ಮಾತ್ರ ಉನ್ನತ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣದ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಎಲ್ಲೆಡೆ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳು, ಕಾಲೇಜಿಗೆ ಏಕೆ ಬರಬೇಕು?, ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಕೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಗೆ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಗಳು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿದೆ.
ಇಂದಿನ ಬೋಧನಾ ವಿಧಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಪನ್ಯಾಸಕರಿಗೂ ಹೊಸ ಸವಾಲುಗಳಿವೆ. ತರಗತಿ ಕೊಠಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಬಂದು, ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಿಸುವ ಹಾಗೂ ನಾವೀನ್ಯಯುತವಾಗಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹಾರ ಮಾಡುವಂತಹ ಕಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಒತ್ತು ನೀಡಬೇಕಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನೂತನವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿದ 95 ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜಾತಿಯ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಗಿಡಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ ನೂತನ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನವನ್ನು ಲೋಕಾರ್ಪಣೆಗೊಳಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಣ ಮತ್ತು ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಗೆ ಪೂರಕವಾಗಿ, ನೂತನವಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡ ಕೊಠಡಿಗಳು, ಆಧುನಿಕ ಕಂಪ್ಯೂಟರ್ ಲ್ಯಾಬ್, ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತ ಸಭಾಂಗಣ, ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರ ಕೊಠಡಿ, ನವೀಕೃತ ಗ್ರಂಥಾಲಯ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಿರು ಸಭಾಂಗಣಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಎನ್ಇಎಸ್ ಸಹ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿ ಡಾ.ಪಿ.ನಾರಾಯಣ್, ಖಜಾಂಚಿ ಡಿ.ಜಿ.ರಮೇಶ್, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಟಿ.ಆರ್.ಅಶ್ವತ್ಥನಾರಾಯಣ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಪಿ.ಮೈಲಾರಪ್ಪ, ಎಚ್.ಸಿ.ಶಿವಕುಮಾರ್, ಎಂ.ಎಸ್.ಅನಂತದತ್ತಾ, ಕುಲಸಚಿವರಾದ ಎನ್.ಕೆ.ಹರಿಯಪ್ಪ, ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಎ.ಎನ್.ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮತ್ತಿತರರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾಲೇಜಿನ ಪ್ರಾಂಶುಪಾಲರಾದ ಡಾ.ಬಿ.ಎಸ್.ಶಿವಪ್ರಸಾದ್ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

Shivamogga: “Our culture can truly flourish only when linguistic diversity is nurtured,” said G.S. Narayana Rao, President of the National Education Committee.
He was speaking after inaugurating the newly renovated building of NES Institute of Advanced Studies College on Wednesday.
Over the past 17 years, this institution has faced many challenges, and today it has grown into a mighty tree under whose shade thousands of students have emerged as achievers. This proves the saying that only those with patience can become true leaders.
“Children need values along with education. We must always respect our conscience. This world is a book that can never be fully read. Life itself is the greatest institution, teaching lessons without any fee. Each person’s experiences impart unique lessons. True progress is possible only when we live with awareness of such realities,” he emphasized.
NES Secretary S.N. Nagaraj remarked that providing infrastructure alone is not enough for higher education to thrive. In today’s age, information is easily accessible everywhere, leading students to question why they should attend college. It is up to teachers and institutions to answer this.
He added that modern teaching methods pose new challenges for lecturers. Instead of merely delivering information in classrooms, emphasis must be placed on analysis, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
On the occasion, a newly developed garden with more than 95 varieties of fruit-bearing trees was inaugurated. Alongside this, new classrooms, a modern computer lab, a well-equipped auditorium, a principal’s office, an upgraded library, and a mini hall were also opened.
The event was attended by NES Joint Secretary Dr. P. Narayan, Treasurer D.G. Ramesh, Directors T.R. Ashwatthanarayana Shetty, P. Mailarappa, H.C. Shivakumar, M.S. Anantdatta, Registrar N.K. Hariyappa, Academic Administrator A.N. Ramachandra, and others. The program was presided over by College Principal Dr. B.S. Shivaprasad.
