ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜುಲೈ 17: ರಾಜ್ಯಾದ್ಯಂತ ತೀವ್ರಗೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಎಲ್;ನಿನೊ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳ ಒಳಹರಿವು ಬಹುತೇಕ ಶೂನ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಇಳಿದಿರುವ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾವುದೇ ಮುಂಗಾರು ಹಂಗಾಮಿನ ಬೆಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಯದಂತೆ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ನೀರಾವರಿ ನಿಗಮ ನಿಯಮಿತದ ತುಂಗಾ ಮೇಲ್ದಂಡೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ವಿಭಾಗದ ಕಾರ್ಯಪಾಲಕ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ ಅವರು ರೈತರಲ್ಲಿ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಜುಲೈ 2 ರಂದು ನಡೆದ ಸಚಿವ ಸಂಪುಟ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಬರದ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಕುರಿತು ಸುಧೀರ್ಘ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, “ಜಲಾಶಯ ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡು ಯಾವ ರೈತರೂ ಬೆಳೆ ಹಾಕಬೇಡಿ” ಎಂದು ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಮುಖ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದಂತೆ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಲಭ್ಯವಿರುವ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕಡ್ಡಾಯವಾಗಿ ಕೇವಲ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾಯ್ದಿರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ತುರ್ತು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದೆ.
ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಸುತ್ತೋಲೆಯ ಅನ್ವಯ, ರೈತರಿಗೆ ಈ ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮನವರಿಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಆಯಾ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಮತ್ತು ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಮನ್ವಯ ಸಾಧಿಸಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲು ನೀರಾವರಿ ಸಲಹಾ ಸಮಿತಿಯ ಸದಸ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ : ತುಂಗಾ ಮೇಲ್ದಂಡೆ ಯೋಜನೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಕಾಲುವೆ ಹಾಗೂ ತುಂಗಾ ಅಣೆಕಟ್ಟು ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇವಲ ಜನ-ಜಾನುವಾರುಗಳ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ಉದ್ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಸೀಮಿತವಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹರಿಸಲು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ದಿನಾಂಕ: 03.07.2026 ರಂದು ಅಧಿಕೃತ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ ಕ್ರಮ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಪ್ರಸಕ್ತ ಮುಂಗಾರು ಹಂಗಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತ ಬಾಂಧವರು ಯಾವುದೇ ನೀರಾವರಿ ಬೆಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಯಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ವಿನಂತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜಲಕ್ಷಾಮದ ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ರೈತರು ಪರಿಸ್ಥಿತಿಯನ್ನು ಅರ್ಥೈಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಇಲಾಖೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತಿಳಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Farmers advised not to rely on reservoir water to grow crops | Shivamogga, July 17: In the wake of the intensifying El Niño effect across the state and the inflow of reservoirs having almost reduced to zero, the Executive Engineer of the Tunga Upper River Project Division of the Karnataka Irrigation Corporation Limited has appealed to farmers not to rely on reservoirs to grow any monsoon season crops this year.
A lengthy discussion was held on the drought situation in the state in the cabinet meeting held on July 2, and the Chief Minister made it clear that “no farmer should plant crops by relying on reservoirs.”
As per the Chief Minister’s directive, there is an emergency situation where the water available in the reservoirs at present has to be reserved for drinking water only.
As per the government circular, the member secretaries of the Irrigation Advisory Committee have been instructed to convince the farmers about this situation and to work in coordination with the respective Regional Commissioners and District Collectors.
For drinking water only: Action has already been taken by issuing an official notification on 03.07.2026 to release water in the Tunga Upper Project Main Canal and Tunga Dam Canals only for the purpose of drinking water for people and livestock.
Therefore, it is requested that farmers should not grow any irrigated crops during the current monsoon season. The notification states that farmers should understand the situation and fully cooperate with the department in this time of water scarcity.
