ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 07: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಸೆಂಟ್ರಲ್ ಜೈಲ್ ಒಳಗೆ ಗಾಂಜಾ, ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಪೋನ್, ಸಿಗರೇಟ್, ಲೈಟರ್ ಎಸೆದಿದ್ದ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಗಾ ನಗರ ಠಾಣೆ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ಬಂಧಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಸೂಳೇಬೈಲು ನಿವಾಸಿ ಮೊಹಮ್ಮದ್ ಖಲಂದರ್ ಯಾನೆ ಕಲ್ಲು (23), ಬೊಮ್ಮನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಬಡಾವಣೆ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಅಬ್ದುಲ್ ಮುನಾಫ್ ಯಾನೆ ಮುನ್ನ (30), ಕೋಟೆಗಂಗೂರು ನಿವಾಸಿ ವಿಜಯ್ (19) ಹಾಗೂ ಬೊಮ್ಮನಕಟ್ಟೆ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಪರಶುರಾಮ್ (19) ಬಂಧಿತ ಆರೋಪಿಗಳೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಆರೋಪಿಗಳಿಂದ ಕೃತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಿದ್ದ ಬೈಕ್ ನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಂಗ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 07 ರಂದು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕಟಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಘಟನೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : 1/2/2026 ರಂದು ಸೋಗಾನೆಯ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಕಾರಾಗೃಹದ ಒಳಗಡೆ ಕಪ್ಪು ಬಣ್ಣದ ಗಮ್ ಟೇಪ್ ನಿಂದ ಪ್ಯಾಕ್ ಮಾಡಿದ ಗಾಂಜಾ ಸೊಪ್ಪು, ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಫೋನ್, ಸಿಗರೇಟ್, ಲೈಟರ್ ನ್ನು ಎಸೆದಿದ್ದರು.
ಕಾರಾಗೃಹ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಸದರಿ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ತುಂಗಾನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಕೆ ಟಿ ಗುರುರಾಜ್, ಸಬ್ ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಗಳಾದ ಗಾದಿ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಗೌಡರ್, ರಘುವೀರ್, ಮಂಜಮ್ಮ ಮತ್ತವರ ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಆರೋಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಧಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫಲರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Five arrested for throwing ganja, mobile phone, cigarette, lighter inside Shivamogga Central Jail!
Shivamogga, February 07: On charges of throwing ganja, mobile phone, lighter inside Shivamogga city’s Central Jail, five accused have been arrested by Tunga Nagar police station officers.
The arrested accused are identified as: Mohammad Khalandar alias Kallu (23), resident of Soolébailu, Shivamogga. Abdul Munaf alias Munna (30), resident of Bommanakatte locality. Vijay (19), resident of Koteganguru. Parashuram (19), resident of Bommanakatte.
The bike used for the act has been seized from the accused. All have been handed over to judicial custody, according to the press release issued by the police department on February 07.
Incident background: On 1/2/2026, inside Sogane Central Prison, ganja leaves, mobile phone, cigarette, and lighter packed with black gum tape were thrown inside. Prison staff seized the said items. In this regard, a complaint was filed at Tunga Nagar Police Station. Inspector K. T. Gururaj, Sub-Inspectors Gadi Lingappa Gowdar, Raghuveer, Manjamma, and their staff succeeded in arresting the accused.
