ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜೂನ್ 12: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ಅವ್ಯಾಹತವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಯೊಂದು ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಒತ್ತುವರಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಆರೋಪವೊಂದು ಕೇಳಿಬಂದಿದೆ!
ನಗರದ ಆರ್’ಟಿಓ ಕಚೇರಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ನಿಗಮ ನಿಯಮಿತವು, ತನ್ನ ಕಚೇರಿ ಮುಂಭಾಗದ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ‘ಉಪ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಸಂರಕ್ಷಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಉಪ ವಿಭಾಗ’ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಅಳವಡಿಸಿದೆ.
ಸದರಿ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಜಾಗಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ಹಾಕಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಓಡಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಒಂದೊಮ್ಮೆ ಓಡಾಡಿದರೂ ಸದರಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ತಗ್ಗಿಬಗ್ಗಿ ಸಂಚರಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಕೆಲ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ಆರೋಪಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಕಳೆದ ಕೆಲ ತಿಂಗಳ ಹಿಂದಷ್ಟೆ ಸದರಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ಜನ – ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರದ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ವರ್ತಕರನ್ನು ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಕಚೇರಿ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ಹಾಕಿರುವ ನಾಮಫಲಕ ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಿಲ್ಲವೇಕೆ ಎಂಬುವುದು ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಸದರಿ ಕಚೇರಿ ಕೂಗಳತೆ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಕಚೇರಿಯಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ವಿವಿಧ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆಗಳು ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ನೂರಾರು ಜನರು ನಾನಾ ಕೆಲಸ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಸದರಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ವಾಹನ ದಟ್ಟಣೆಯೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದೆ. ಮೊದಲೇ ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿರುವ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಪುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ನಿಂದ ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳು ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಓಡಾಡುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ.
ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಫುಟ್’ಪಾತ್ ಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಲಾಗಿ ಹಾಕಿರುವ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ನಾಮಫಲಕವನ್ನು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ಹಾಗೂ ಟ್ರಾಫಿಕ್ ಪೊಲೀಸರು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸಿ, ಪಾದಚಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅನುಕೂಲ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

The Karnataka Forest Development Corporation Limited, located on the city’s RTO office road, has installed an iron nameplate with the name ‘Deputy Conservator of Forests, Shivamogga Sub-Division’ across the footpath in front of its office.
Since the said nameplate has been placed across the footpath, pedestrians are unable to walk. Some pedestrians allege that even if they walk once, they have to crouch down and walk in the said place.
Just a few months ago, the traffic police had cleared the traders who were doing business on the footpath on the said road in order to ensure smooth movement of people and vehicles. However, the citizens say that they do not know why the nameplate placed across the office footpath has not been removed.
The District Collector’s office is located a short distance from the said office. Various government departments are also functioning there. Hundreds of people walk on the said road every day for various work purposes. Vehicular traffic has also increased. The unorganized footpath on the road, which was previously narrow, has forced pedestrians to walk on the road.
The citizens have demanded that the Municipal Corporation administration and the traffic police immediately remove the iron nameplate placed across the footpath and facilitate pedestrians.
