ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 03: ತೋಟಗಳಿ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ ಎರಡು ಕಾಡಾನೆಗಳು, ಅಡಕೆ ಹಾಗೂ ತೆಂಗಿನ ಮರಗಳಿಗೆ ಹಾನಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 02 ರ ರಾತ್ರಿ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ಕೃಷ್ಣೇಗೌಡ ಹಾಗೂ ಈಶಣ್ಣ ಎಂಬುವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ತೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಲೈನ್ ಕೂಡ ಎಳೆದು ಹಾಕಿವೆ. ಅದೃಷ್ಟಾವಶಾತ್ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಕಡಿತಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಂಭಾವ್ಯ ಅನಾಹುತ ತಪ್ಪಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಉಂಬ್ಳೆಬೈಲು ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲಿನ ತೋಟ, ಗದ್ದೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾಡಾನೆಗಳು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ದಾಳಿಯಿಟ್ಟು ಫಸಲು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಅರಣ್ಯ ಇಲಾಖೆಯು ಕಾಡಾನೆಗಳ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾವುದೇ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ದೂರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ತೋಟದ ನಡುವೆ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹಲವು ಬಾರಿ ಮೆಸ್ಕಾಂಗೆ ಮನವಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ತೋಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಕಂಬಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರವುಗೊಳಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಮೆಸ್ಕಾಂಗೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Shivamogga : Wild Elephant Attack – Damage to Areca and Coconut Trees!
Shivamogga, April 03: Two wild elephants entered plantations and damaged areca and coconut trees on the night of April 02.
The incident occurred in the plantations belonging to Krishnegowda and Eeshanna. The elephants also pulled down an electric line passing through the plantation. Fortunately, since the power supply had already been cut off, a possible disaster was avoided, locals reported.
Wild elephants have been continuously raiding plantations and fields around Umbalebailu village, destroying crops. However, locals complain that the Forest Department has taken no action to control the elephants.
Similarly, despite repeated requests to MESCOM (the electricity supply company) to remove the electric poles running through the plantations, no action has been taken. Locals are now demanding immediate removal of these poles to prevent further danger.
