ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಮೇ 03 : ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪದ ಸರ್ಕಲ್ ಬಳಿಯ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ಗುಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ನಾಗರಿಕರೇ ಮುಚ್ಚುವ ಮೂಲಕ, ‘ಗಾಂಧಿಗಿರಿ’ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ಹೊರ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದಾರೆ!
ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಭಾರೀ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಗುಂಡಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಗುಂಡಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಲು ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದರಿಂದ ಸದರಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಗಮ ವಾಹನ ಸಂಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಕೆಲ ದ್ವಿ ಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರು ಬಿದ್ದು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಜಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಂ ಸ್ಯಾಂಡ್, ಸಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಬಳಸಿ ಗುಂಡಿ ಮುಚ್ಚುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮುಖಂಡರಾದ ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್, ರಮೇಶ್, ರುದ್ರೇಶ್, ಪ್ರಭು, ಸತೀಶ್, ದಿನೇಶ್ ಮೊದಲಾದವರಿದ್ದರು.
‘ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದ ಗುಂಡಿಯ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ, ಕೆಲ ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರು ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ನಾಗರಿಕರೇ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಗುಂಡಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದರು. ಮತ್ತೆ ಅದೇ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಗುಂಡಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಆಡಳಿತ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವುಗಳೇ ಜಲ್ಲಿ, ಎಂ ಸ್ಯಾಂಡ್, ಸಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಹಾಕಿ ಗುಂಡಿ ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದೆವೆ.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪದ ನಂಜಪ್ಪ ಲೈಫ್ ಕೇರ್, ಶರಾವತಿ ಡೆಂಟಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರೀ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದ ಗುಂಡಿ – ಗೊಟರುಗಳು ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಮಳೆಗಾಲದಿಂದ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಿದೆ. ಇದೀಗ ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಮಳೆಗಾಲ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದಾಗ್ಯೂ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ಗುಂಡಿ – ಗೊಟರು ಮುಚ್ಚಲು ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಸದರಿ ಗುಂಡಿ – ಗೊಟರುಗಳು ದ್ವಿಚಕ್ರ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಅಪಾಯಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿಣಮಿಸಿವೆ’ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಅಸಮಾಧಾನ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
ಪ್ರತಿನಿತ್ಯ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ವಾಹನಗಳು ಸಂಚರಿಸುವ ಸದರಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಬೇಕು. ಅವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಸರಿಪಡಿಸಲು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಇಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದರೆ ಮುಂದಿನ ದಿನಗಳಂದು ಬೀದಿಗಿಳಿದು ಹೋರಾಟ ನಡೆಸುವುದು ಅನಿವಾರ್ಯವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳ ದಿವ್ಯ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ!
*** ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ ಗಾಡಿಕೊಪ್ಪದ ನಂಜಪ್ಪ ಲೈಫ್ ಕೇರ್, ಶರಾವತಿ ಡೆಂಟಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ಸಮೀಪದ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗುಂಡಿ – ಗೊಟರು ಬಿದ್ದಿವೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಡೆಂಟಲ್ ಕಾಲೇಜ್ ನ ತುಂಗಾ ಮೇಲ್ದಂಡೆ ನಾಲೆಯ ಸೇತುವೆಯ ಒಂದು ಬದಿಯ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ಕುಸಿದಿದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ದಿನದಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಕುಸಿತವಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿಯವರೆಗೂ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಶಾಶ್ವತವಾಗಿ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲು ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ನಿರ್ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇನ್ನಾದರೂ ಆಡಳಿತ ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕು. ಕಾಲಮಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Shivamogga: Citizens have closed potholes on the National Highway! | Report: B. Renukesh | Shivamogga, May 03: Citizens have vented their anger on the ‘Gandhigiri’ route by closing a pothole that had fallen on the National Highway near Gadikoppa Circle in Shivamogga city!
A huge pothole had fallen on the highway for the past several months. But the National Highway authorities had not taken steps to close the pothole. This had become an obstacle to smooth vehicular traffic at the said location. Some two-wheeler riders had fallen and been injured.
In this context, local citizens have recently carried out the work of closing the pothole using gravel, M sand, and cement. Local leaders like Venkatesh, Ramesh, Rudresh, Prabhu, Satish, Dinesh, etc. were present at this time.
‘Due to the pothole that had fallen on the highway, some two-wheeler riders had fallen on the road and been injured. Earlier, citizens had closed the pothole on the road. Again, there was a huge pothole at the same place. But the administration had not taken any action to fix the mess. In this context, we ourselves filled the pothole with gravel, M sand, and cement.
Similarly, a large number of potholes and ditches have fallen on the highway near Nanjappa Life Care and Sharavathi Dental College in Gadikoppa. The highway has been in disarray since the last rainy season. Now another rainy season is starting. However, no action has been taken to close the potholes and ditches on the highway. The said potholes and ditches have become dangerous for two-wheeler riders, locals express dissatisfaction.
The National Highways authorities should give more priority to the said highway, where thousands of vehicles ply daily. Necessary action should be taken to fix the mess. Otherwise, citizens have warned that it will be necessary to take to the streets in the coming days and protest.

Similarly, the retaining wall on one side of the bridge over the Tunga upper canal of the Dental College has collapsed. The said place is collapsing further day by day. But till now, the National Highways Department officials have not taken any steps to permanently resolve the problem. They have been completely negligent. The administration should at least wake up. Local citizens demand that the problem be resolved within the time limit.
