ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ (bhadravathi), ಜನವರಿ 31: ಜಾತಿ ನಿಂದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೋರ್ವರಿಗೆ 2 ವರ್ಷ ಕಠಿಣ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿ, ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯ 4 ನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಜನವರಿ 30 ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ತಾಲೂಕು ಅಗರದಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಸುರೇಶ್ ಎ ವಿ (54) ಎಂಬುವರೆ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 50 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಇಂದಿರಾ ಮೈಲಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಚೆಟ್ಟಿಯಾರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಯೋಜಕರಾದ ರತ್ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿ ಅವರು ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ದೂರುದಾರರಿಗೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗೂ ಜಾಗದ ವಿಚಾರವಾಗಿ ವಿವಾದವಿತ್ತು. 25/02/2022 ರಂದು ಇವರಿಬ್ಬರ ನಡುವೆ ಗಲಾಟೆಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ಅವ್ಯಾಚ್ಯ ಶಬ್ದಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಂದಿಸಿ, ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದ.
ಗಲಾಟೆಯ ವಿಚಾರವನ್ನು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಲು ದೂರುದಾರರು ಅಗರದಹಳ್ಳಿಯ ಕಾಲು ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯು ದೂರುದಾರರನ್ನು ಅಡ್ಡ ಹಾಕಿ ಜಾತಿ ನಿಂದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ.
ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ದೂರುದಾರರು ಹೊಳೆಹೊನ್ನೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಸ್ಸಿ – ಎಸ್ಟಿ ದೌರ್ಜನ್ಯ ತಡೆ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಡಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಡಿವೈಎಸ್ಪಿ ಈಶ್ವರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆರೋಪಪಟ್ಟಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Caste Abuse Case: 2 Years Rigorous Imprisonment! | Bhadravati, January 31: In a case of caste abuse, a man has been sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment by the 4th Additional District and Sessions Court of Bhadravati on January 30. The convicted person has been identified as Suresh A.V. (54), a resident of Agaradahalli village in Bhadravati taluk. Along with the prison sentence, he has also been fined ₹50,000. The verdict was delivered by Judge Indira Mailaswami Chettiar, while Government Prosecutor Ratnamma P. argued on behalf of the state.
Case Background: There was a dispute over land between the complainant and the convicted person. On February 25, 2022, a quarrel broke out between them, during which the accused used abusive language and issued threats. Later, when the complainant was walking along the footpath of Agaradahalli to inform the village elders about the quarrel, the accused obstructed him and hurled caste-based insults. Following this incident, the complainant lodged a case at the Holehonnur Police Station under the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act. The case was investigated by DySP Ishwar Nayak, who filed the charge sheet in court.
