ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 10: ಜಮೀನಿನ ತಂತಿ ಬೇಲಿಗೆ ಅನದಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕದಿಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೋರ್ವರು ಶಾಕ್ ನಿಂದ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ 1 ವರ್ಷ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ 3 ನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 09 ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಕೋಣೆಹೊಸೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಪ್ಪ (48) ಹಾಗೂ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ (43) ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದವರೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 11 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಯಶವಂತ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಶಾಂತರಾಜ್ ಅವರು ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಣಪ್ಪ ಹಾಗೂ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬುವರು ಜಮೀನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿದ್ದ ಬೋರ್’ವೆಲ್ ಗೆ ಅನದಿಕೃತವಾಗಿ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಜಮೀನಿನ ತಂತಿ ಬೇಲಿಯ ಮೇಲ್ಭಾಗ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೆಳಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೋರ್ ವೆಲ್ ಮೋಟಾರ್ ಸ್ವಿಚ್ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ನಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಸಂಪರ್ಕ ನೀಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಗಾಮಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬುವರ 25-09-2021 ರಂದು ಮನೆಯ ಹಿಂಭಾಗದ ಸದರಿ ಜಮೀನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಿರ್ದೆಸೆಗೆ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದರು. ಬೇಲಿ ತಂತಿ ದಾಟುವ ವೇಳೆ ವಿದ್ಯುತ್ ಶಾಕ್ ಗೆ ತುತ್ತಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅಸುನೀಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಕುಂಸಿ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಂದಿನ ಇನ್ಸ್’ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಅಭಯ ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ಸೋಮನಾಳ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆರೋಪಪಟ್ಟಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Death by Electric Shock from Farmland Fence: Two Sentenced to 1 Year in Jail
Shivamogga, February 10: In a case where a man died after coming into contact with an illegally electrified farmland fence, the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court in Shivamogga delivered its verdict on February 9, sentencing two men to one year in prison.
The convicted individuals are Lakshmanappa (48) and Lingappa (43), residents of Konehosuru village in Shivamogga taluk. In addition to imprisonment, they were fined ₹11,000. The judgment was delivered by Judge Yashwanth Kumar, while government prosecutor Shantharaj argued the case on behalf of the state.
Case background: Lakshmanappa and Lingappa had illegally drawn electricity for their borewell. They connected the borewell motor switchboard to both the upper and lower parts of the farmland’s wire fence.
On September 25, 2021, a man named Gamappa went behind his house to relieve himself. While crossing the fence, he came into contact with the electrified wire, suffered a shock, and died instantly.
The case was registered at Kumsi Police Station. Then-Inspector Abhay Prakash Somanal investigated and filed the chargesheet in court.
