ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 17: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ವಿಳಂಬ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಶಾಸಕ ಚನ್ನಬಸಪ್ಪ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 17 ರಂದು ಆದರ್ಶ ನಗರ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕರ ಅಹವಾಲು ಆಲಿಸಿದ ನಂತರ ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಪರಿಷ್ಕರಣೆಗಿಂತ ಮೊದಲು, ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕು. ಈಗಿರುವ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಅನುದಾನ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂತಹ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಗರದ ಹೊರವಲಯದ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಸೇರ್ಪಡೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರೆ ಬದುಕಲು ಆಗುತ್ತದೆಯಾ? ಕನಿಷ್ಠ ಕುಡಿಯಲು ನೀರು ಕೊಡಲು ಆಗುತ್ತದೆಯಾ? ಎಂದು ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ವಿರುದ್ದ ಆಕ್ರೋಶ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು.
ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗೆ ಕಾಲಮಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಅನುದಾನ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳಿಯಾಡಳಿತಗಳಿಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯದ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ, ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಾವಿರಾರು ಕೋಟಿ ರೂ. ಎಸ್.ಎಫ್.ಸಿ ಅನುದಾನವು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗದಂತಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ದೂರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ನಗರದ ಹೊರವಲಯದ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೂಲಸೌಕರ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಇದೆ ವೇಳೆ ಚನ್ನಬಸಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
Delay in Shivamogga Municipal Elections: MLA Channabasappa Angry at State Government!
Shivamogga, February 17: MLA Channabasappa has expressed strong anger against the state government for delaying the Shivamogga Municipal Corporation elections.
Speaking to reporters after listening to public grievances in Adarsha Nagar locality on February 17, he said:
Before revising the limits of the Shivamogga Corporation, the state government must conduct elections. At present, elections are not being held under the existing system, and necessary grants for development are not being released. In such a situation, if the city’s outskirts are merged into the corporation, how will people live? Will the government at least be able to provide drinking water? He voiced his outrage against the government with these questions.
He demanded that the state government should think about conducting elections within the stipulated time and release the required grants for development works.
He further complained that because elections to local bodies are not being held in the state, thousands of crores of rupees in SFC (State Finance Commission) grants that should have come from the central government have not been received.
MLA’s Instruction on Drinking Water Supply
For drinking water supply to MSK City Layout in Ward No. 1 of Shivamogga Municipal Corporation limits, residents of the KHB Press Colony Welfare Association submitted a request to MLA Channabasappa.
The MLA, in turn, instructed water board engineer Jeevan — who was present at the site — to take necessary steps within the stipulated time to ensure drinking water supply to the residents of the said locality. On this occasion, the association’s president, journalist B. Renukesh, and senior leader Kotreshappa were also present.
