ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 01: ಹಣಕಾಸು ವರ್ಷದ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನವಾದ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 01 ರಂದು ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸಿದ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತವು ಸಿಹಿ ವಿತರಣೆ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ‘ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಪತ್ರ’ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿತು!
ಹೌದು. ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ತೆರಿಗೆದಾರರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ವಿನೂತನ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಡೆಸಿತು. ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 1 ರಂದು ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯ ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೂವು, ತಳಿರು – ತೋರಣಗಳಿಂದ ಸಿಂಗರಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸಲು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ನಾಗರಿಕರನ್ನು ಕಚೇರಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ – ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿಗಳು ಆತ್ಮೀಯವಾಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
ಕಚೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಸಿದ್ದಪಡಿಸಿದ ಆಸನದಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳ್ಳರಿಸಿ, ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂದಾಯ ಪಾವತಿ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕ್ರಮದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೆಚ್ಚುಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದರು. ನಂತರ ಸದರಿ ತೆರಿಗೆದಾರರಿಗೆ ಲಾಡು ವಿತರಿಸಿದರು. ‘ಮಾದರಿ ನಾಗರಿಕ’ ಎಂಬ ಬಿರುದು ಒಳಗೊಂಡ, ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಸಹಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಪತ್ರ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಸಿದರು.
ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಈ ವಿಶೇಷ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯು, ಕಂದಾಯ ಪಾವತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಗಮಿಸಿದ ನಾಗರಿಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಸಂತಸ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಿತು.
ಆಯುಕ್ತರು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನು? : ಗೋಪಿ ವೃತ್ತದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿ – 2 ಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಮಾಯಣ್ಣಗೌಡರವರು, ಸ್ವತಃ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಪತ್ರ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಿದರು. ಈ ವೇಳೆ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, ‘ನಾಗರಿಕರು ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸಿ ನಗರದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಗೆ ಕೈಜೋಡಿಸಬೇಕು.
ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜಾಗೃತಿ ಮೂಡಿಸಲು, ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ತೆರಿಗೆದಾರರನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಹಾಗೂ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಉದ್ಧೇಶದಿಂದ, ಹಣಕಾಸು ವರ್ಷ ಆರಂಭದ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನವಾದ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 01 ರಂದು ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿ ಮಾಡಲು ಆಗಮಿಸುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಅಭಿನಂದನಾ ಪತ್ರ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ವಲಯ ಕಚೇರಿಯ ಉಪ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾದ ವಿರುಪಾಕ್ಷಪ್ಪ ಪೂಜಾರ್, ಆರ್ ಓ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ, ಸಹಾಯಕ ಕಂದಾಯಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಅಂಜನಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಕಂದಾಯ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷರಾದ ಅನೀಸ್, ವರ್ಷ, ಜುಬೇರ್ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.

*** ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ತಿಂಗಳಾಂತ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ 2026-27 ನೇ ಸಾಲಿನ ಆಸ್ತಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸುವ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಶೇ. 5 ರಷ್ಟು ರಿಯಾಯ್ತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. 1/5/2026 ರಿಂದ 30/6/2026 ರವರೆಗೆ ಈ ರಿಯಾಯ್ತಿ ಅನ್ವಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಸಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ತೆರಿಗೆ ಪಾವತಿಸದಿದ್ದರೆ 1/7/2026 ರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೆ ಶೇ. 2 ರಷ್ಟು ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಆಡಳಿತ ನಾಗರೀಕರಿಗೆ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆ ಕೂಡ ನೀಡಿದೆ.
“Laddu and a Congratulatory Letter for Citizens Who Paid Tax on April 1!” – What is this unique initiative by Shivamogga Municipality?
Report: B. Renukesh Shivamogga, April 1: On the very first day of the financial year, April 1, citizens who paid their property tax were honored by the Shivamogga City Corporation with sweets and a congratulatory letter!
Yes, for the first time, the municipal administration carried out this innovative gesture to honor taxpayers. On April 1, the zonal offices of the corporation were decorated with flowers and festoons. Citizens arriving to pay taxes were warmly welcomed by the officers and staff.
Special seating arrangements were made in the offices, and appreciation was expressed for those paying their taxes promptly. Afterwards, laddus were distributed to the taxpayers. They were also honored with a congratulatory letter signed by the Commissioner, conferring the title of “Model Citizen.”
This special arrangement, made for the first time in the zonal offices, surprised and delighted the citizens who came to pay their taxes.
What did the Commissioner say?
At Zone Office–2 near Gopi Circle, Commissioner Mayannagowdar personally handed over congratulatory letters to citizens. Speaking on the occasion, he said: “Citizens should pay property tax on time and contribute to the city’s development. To raise awareness about tax payment, to honor honest taxpayers, and to draw public attention, we are presenting congratulatory letters to those who pay their taxes on the very first day of the financial year, April 1.”
Deputy Commissioner Virupakshappa Pujar, Revenue Officer Nagendra, Assistant Revenue Officer Anjanamurthy, Revenue Inspectors Anees, Varsha, Jubair, and others were present.
5% Discount for April Payments!
Citizens who pay their property tax for the financial year 2026–27 within April will receive a 5% discount. From May 1 to June 30, 2026, this discount will not apply. If taxes are not paid on time, starting July 1, 2026, a penalty of 2% per month will be levied, the corporation administration has warned.
