ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ (bhadravathi), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 02: ಯುವಕನೋರ್ವನ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆಗೆ ಕಾರಣರಾದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ 10 ವರ್ಷ ಕಠಿಣ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿ, ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯ 4 ನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 1 ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮಲ್ಲಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ನಾಗರಾಜ್ ರಾವ್ (26) ಹಾಗೂ ಮಂಜೋಜಿ ರಾವ್ (50) ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದವರೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 2.23 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. 1.50 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ.ಗಳನ್ನು ಮೃತ ಯುವಕನ ತಂದೆಗೆ ಪರಿಹಾರ ವಿತರಿಸುವಂತೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರು ಆದೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಇಂದಿರಾ ಮೈಲಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಚೆಟ್ಟಿಯಾರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಯೋಜಕರಾದ ರತ್ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿ ಅವರು ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಮಲ್ಲಾಪುರ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯಾದ ನವೀನ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ (22) ಎಂಬ ಯುವಕ, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದ ಸದರಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಕುಟುಂಬಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯ ಮೊಬೈಲ್ ಪೋನ್ ಗೆ ಸಂದೇಶ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದ.
ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಸದರಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಯುವಕನ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿ ಅವ್ಯಾಚ್ಯ ಶಬ್ದಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಂದಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಜೀವ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಊರು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬೆದರಿಕೆ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಯುವಕನು ವಿಷ ಸೇವಿಸಿ ಆತ್ಮಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಹೊಳೆಹೊನ್ನೂರು ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು.
Bhadravati: 10 years rigorous imprisonment for two – the reason
Bhadravati, April 2: The 4th Additional District and Sessions Court in Bhadravati on April 1 sentenced two individuals to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment for causing the suicide of a young man.
The convicted are Nagraj Rao (26) and Manjoji Rao (50), residents of Mallapur village in Bhadravati taluk. Along with the prison term, they were fined ₹2.23 lakh. Out of this, ₹1.50 lakh is to be given as compensation to the deceased youth’s father. The verdict was delivered by Judge Indira Mailaswami Chettiar, with government prosecutor Ratnamma P arguing for the state.
Case background: Naveen Kumar (22), a resident of Mallapur village, had sent a message to the mobile phone of a girl belonging to the family of the convicted men. In response, the two assaulted him, verbally abused him with obscene words, and threatened that he must leave the village if he wanted to stay alive. Distressed by this harassment, Naveen consumed poison and died by suicide.
Following this incident, a case was registered at the Holehonnu police station, which eventually led to the conviction and sentencing of the two accused.
