ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜುಲೈ 07: ಮಲೆನಾಡಲ್ಲಿ ಕಳೆದ ಮೂರು ದಿನಗಳಿಂದ ಬೀಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ಧಾರಾಕಾರ ಮಳೆ ಮುಂದುವರಿದಿದೆ. ನದಿಗಳ ಹರಿವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಮಾಲತಿ ನದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವೃದ್ದರೋರ್ವರು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.
ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ಆಗುಂಬೆ ಸಮೀಪದ ಕೇಳೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮಪ್ಪ (65) ಎಂಬುವರು ನದಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ.
ತೋಟದ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ತೆರಳಿದ್ದ ರಾಮಪ್ಪರವರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಶೋಧ ನಡೆಸಿದ ವೇಳೆ ತೋಟದ ಪಕ್ಕದ ನದಿ ದಂಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮಪ್ಪರವರ ಬಟ್ಟೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಪ್ಪಲಿಗಳು ಪತ್ತೆಯಾಗಿವೆ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನದಿ ನೀರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಚ್ಚಿ ಹೋಗಿರುವ ಶಂಕೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಶೋಧ ಕಾರ್ಯಾಚರಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ತುಂಗಾ ಡ್ಯಾಂ : 07/07/2026 ರ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ 8 ಗಂಟೆಯ ಮಾಹಿತಿಯಂತೆ ತುಂಗಾ ಡ್ಯಾಂನ ಒಳಹರಿವು 29,987 ಕ್ಯೂಸೆಕ್ ಗೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಡ್ಯಾಂ ಗರಿಷ್ಠ ಮಟ್ಟವಾದ 588.24 ಮೀಟರ್ ತಲುಪಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ಒಳಹರಿವಿನಷ್ಟೆ ನೀರನ್ನು ಹೊರ ಬಿಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಇದರಿಂದ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿರುವ ತುಂಗಾ ನದಿಯು ಮೈದುಂಬಿ ಹರಿಯಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮಂಗಳವಾರ ಕೂಡ ಬಿಟ್ಟುಬಿಡದೆ ಮಳೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ.
ಶಾಲೆಗಳಿಗೆ ರಜೆ : ಭಾರೀ ಮಳೆ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀರ್ಥಹಳ್ಳಿ, ಹೊಸನಗರ, ಸಾಗರ ಹಾಗೂ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ತಾಲೂಕುಗಳ ಶಾಲಾ – ಕಾಲೇಜುಗಳೀಗೆ 07/07/2026 ರಂದು ರಜೆ ಘೋಷಣೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ.
Heavy rain in Malenad: Elderly man washed away in Malathi river – Tunga dam outflow increases
Shivamogga, July 07: The heavy rains that have been falling in Malenad for the past three days have continued. The flow of rivers has started increasing. Meanwhile, an elderly man has been washed away in the Malathi river.
It has been reported that Ramappa (65) was washed away in the river water in Kelur village near Agumbe in Thirthahalli taluk.
Ramappa, who had gone to work in the garden, had not returned home. During the search, Ramappa’s clothes and slippers were found on the river bank next to the garden. In this context, a search operation is being conducted on the suspicion that he was washed away in the river water.
Tunga Dam: As of 8 am on 07/07/2026, the inflow of Tunga Dam has increased to 29,987 cusecs. Since the dam has already reached its maximum level of 588.24 meters, water is being released only at the inflow.
Due to this, the Tunga river, which passes through Shivamogga city, has started flowing in a big way. Similarly, it is raining in Shivamogga city on Tuesday as well.
Holiday for schools: In the wake of heavy rain, a holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Thirthahalli, Hosanagar, Sagar and Bhadravati taluks on 07/07/2026.
