ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 27: ದುರುದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೋರ್ವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾರು ಹರಿಸಿ ಕೊಲೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕನಿಗೆ, ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದ 3 ನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ಜೀವಾವಧಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿ ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 25 ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ತಾಲೂಕು ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಾಗಡಿ ತಾಂಡದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಯ್ಕ್ (28) ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದವನೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅಪರಾಧಿಗೆ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 35 ಸಾವಿರ ರೂ. ದಂಡ ಕೂಡ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ವಿಧಿಸಿದೆ.
ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಅಭಯ್ ಧನಪಾಲ್ ಚೌಗಲರವರು ಈ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಯೋಜಕರಾದ ಮಮತಾ ಬಿ ಎಸ್ ಅವರು ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಾಗಡಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ಶಂಕರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ನ ಪತ್ನಿಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅಪರಾಧಿ ಮಂಜುನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಸಲುಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ. ಈ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಂಕರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಲು ಸಂಚು ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದ.
ಅದರಂತೆ 27-8-2023 ರ ರಾತ್ರಿ 10.45 ಗಂಟೆ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಬೈಕ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಶಂಕರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಚಂದ್ರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ರವರಿಗೆ ಕಾರಿನಿಂದ ಡಿಕ್ಕಿ ಹೊಡೆಸಿ ಬೀಳಿಸಿದ್ದ. ತದನಂತರ ಚಂದ್ರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ರವರ ಮೈಮೇಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಶಂಕರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ರವರ ಕಾಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಾರು ಹತ್ತಿಸಿ ಪರಾರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ.
ಚಂದ್ರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಮೃತಪಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು, ಶಂಕರನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಅವರು ಗಾಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಶಿರಾಳಕೊಪ್ಪ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಡಿವೈಎಸ್ಪಿ ಶಿವಾನಂದ ಮದರಕಂಡಿ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆರೋಪಪಟ್ಟಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Life imprisonment for man who killed by ramming car!
Shivamogga, February 27: A young man who deliberately killed a person by ramming a car has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court in Shivamogga on February 25. The convict has been identified as Manjunayak (28), a resident of Chikkamagadi Tanda in Shikaripura taluk. Along with imprisonment, the court also imposed a fine of ₹35,000. The verdict was delivered by Judge Abhay Dhanapal Chougala, while government prosecutor Mamatha B.S. argued on behalf of the state.
Case background: The accused Manjunayak had an illicit relationship with the wife of Shankarnayak, a resident of Chikkamagadi village. To eliminate Shankarnayak, he conspired to kill him. On the night of August 27, 2023, around 10:45 PM, when Shankarnayak and Chandranayak were riding a bike, the accused rammed them with his car, causing them to fall. He then ran the car over Chandranayak’s body and Shankarnayak’s leg before fleeing the scene. As a result, Chandranayak died, while Shankarnayak sustained injuries. A case was registered at Shiralakoppa Police Station. The investigation was carried out by DySP Shivananda Madarakandi, who later filed the charge sheet in court.
