ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ, (bhadravati) ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 11: ಹಲ್ಲೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಜಾತಿ ನಿಂದನೆ ಪ್ರಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ಐವರಿಗೆ 2 ವರ್ಷ ಕಠಿಣ ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿ ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯ 4 ನೇ ಹೆಚ್ಚುವರಿ ಜಿಲ್ಲಾ ಮತ್ತು ಸತ್ರ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ಮಾರ್ಚ್ 10 ರಂದು ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ತಾಲೂಕು ಸುಣ್ಣದಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಾದ ಜಗದೀಶ್ (30), ಕಾಂತರಾಜ್ (32), ನಾಗೇಶ್ (30), ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ (60) ಹಾಗೂ ಪ್ರೇಮಾ (58) ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದವರೆಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇವರೆಲ್ಲ ಒಂದೇ ಕುಟುಂಬದವರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಜೈಲು ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ 1.90 ಲಕ್ಷ ರೂ. ದಂಡ ವಿಧಿಸಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದೆ.
ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧೀಶರಾದ ಇಂದಿರಾ ಮೈಲಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಚೆಟ್ಟಿಯಾರ್ ಅವರು ಈ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಪರವಾಗಿ ಸರ್ಕಾರಿ ಅಭಿಯೋಜಕರಾದ ರತ್ನಮ್ಮ ಪಿ ಅವರು ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ : ಸುಣ್ಣದಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ನಿವಾಸಿ ದೂರುದಾರರಾದ ಆರ್ಮುಗಂ ಎಂಬುವರ ತಮ್ಮ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸರ್ವೇ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗೊಳಗಾದ ಐವರು ಗಲಾಟೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಸದರಿ ಜಾಗ ತಮಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಕೆ ಸರ್ವೇ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೀಯಾ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಹಲ್ಲೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ಜಾತಿ ನಿಂದನೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಈ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ ಪೇಪರ್ ಟೌನ್ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಠಾಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣ ದಾಖಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅಂದಿನ ಡಿವೈಎಸ್ಪಿ ಸುಧಾಕರ್ ಎಸ್ ನಾಯ್ಕ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕರಣದ ತನಿಖೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ್ದರು. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆರೋಪಪಟ್ಟಿ ದಾಖಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Bhadravati: 5 people sentenced to 2 years rigorous imprisonment in assault case!
Bhadravati, March 11: In connection with an assault and caste abuse case, five individuals have been sentenced to 2 years of rigorous imprisonment by the 4th Additional District and Sessions Court in Bhadravati on March 10.
The convicted persons are residents of Sunnadahalli village in Bhadravati taluk: Jagadish (30), Kantharaj (32), Nagesh (30), Manjunath (60), and Prema (58). All belong to the same family. Along with the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of ₹1.90 lakh.
The verdict was delivered by Judge Indira Mailaswami Chettiar. Government Prosecutor Ratnamma P argued the case on behalf of the state.
Case background: The complainant, Arumugam, a resident of Sunnadahalli, was conducting a land survey on his property when the five convicted individuals created a disturbance. Claiming the land belonged to them, they assaulted him and used caste-based abusive language.
A case was registered at Paper Town Police Station. Then-DYSP Sudhakar S. Naik investigated the matter and filed the charge sheet in court.
