ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 07: ಹಿರಿಯ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು, ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ಚಿಂತಕರು, ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದ ದಿವಂಗತ ಕಾಮ್ರೇಡ್ ಎಂ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪರ ಹೆಸರಲ್ಲಿ, ಸಮಾಜದ ವಿವಿಧ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಗಳ ಸಾಧಕರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ‘ದಿ ಗ್ಲೋಬಲ್ ಹ್ಯೂಮನ್ ರೈಟ್ಸ್ ಫೋರಂ’ ಸಂಘಟನೆ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷ ಗಾರಾ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 9 ರಂದು ಸಂಜೆ 5 ಗಂಟೆಗೆ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರದ ಆರ್’ಟಿಓ ಕಚೇರಿ ರಸ್ತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಲಾ ಕೌಶಲ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಆವರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಕಾಮ್ರೇಡ್ ಎಂ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪರವರು ನಾಡಿನ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮದೆ ಆದ ಛಾಪು ಮೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಸಮಾಜಮುಖಿ ನಿಲುವು, ನೇರ – ನಿರ್ಭೀಡ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ತಮ್ಮ 99 ನೇ ವಯಸ್ಸಿನವರೆಗೂ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಕ್ರಿಯರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕೊನೆಯವರೆಗೂ ದೀನ ದಲಿತರು, ಶೋಷಿತರು, ಕಾರ್ಮಿಕರು, ರೈತರು ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ನೆರವಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಕೊಡುಗೈ ದಾನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
ಹಣ, ಅಧಿಕಾರ, ಹುದ್ದೆಗಳ ಹಪಾಹಪಿಗೆ ಒಳಗಾಗದೆ ಪ್ರಾಮಾಣಿಕ ಜೀವನ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಧೀಮಂತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವದವರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ತಾವು ನಂಬಿದ ತತ್ವ – ಸಿದ್ದಾಂತಗಳಿಗೆ ಬದ್ದರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರ ಹೋರಾಟದ ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಜೀವನ ಜೀವನ ನಮ್ಮೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಆದರ್ಶಪ್ರಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಅವರ ನೆನಪು ಸದಾ ಕಾಲ ಹಚ್ಚ ಹಸಿರಾಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ, ಸಂಘಟನೆಯಿಂದ ಸಮಾಜದ ವಿವಿಧ ವರ್ಗಗಳ ಪ್ರಮುಖರನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಿ ಗೌರವಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಐವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಶಸ್ತಿ ನೀಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ರಂಗದಿಂದ ರಘುರಾಜ್ ಮಲ್ನಾಡ್, ಪತ್ರಿಕಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಿಂದ ಬಿ ರೇಣುಕೇಶ್, ಲೇಖಕರ ವಲಯದಿಂದ ಖಲಂದರ್ ರಜ್ಜಿ ಬೆಜ್ಜವಳ್ಳಿ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಸೇವಾ ವಲಯದಿಂದ ಕೆ ಪ್ರಸನ್ನಗೌಡ, ವಕೀಲರ ವಲಯದಿಂದ ರೇಖೇಶ್ ಮಾನೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸನ್ಮಾನಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Shivamogga: Award in the name of veteran journalist Comrade M. Lingappa
Shivamogga, April 07: In the name of late Comrade M. Lingappa, a veteran journalist, social thinker, and activist, achievers from various fields of society will be honored with awards, informed Gara Srinivas, president of the ‘Global Human Rights Forum’ organization.
On April 9 at 5 PM, the award presentation ceremony will be held at the premises of Sri Kala Kaushalya Abhivruddi Kendra on RTO office road, he said.
Comrade M. Lingappa had left his own mark in the journalism of the state. He was socially committed, straightforward, and fearless as a journalist. He remained active in the field of journalism until the age of 99. He always helped the poor, the oppressed, workers, and farmers. He lived a principled life without succumbing to the lure of money, power, or positions, and was a dignified personality.
His struggle-filled journalistic life is an inspiration to all of us. With the intention that his memory should remain evergreen, the organization is honoring prominent individuals from different sections of society with awards, he said.

- From literature: Khalandar Rajji Bejjavalli
- From Kannada service: K. Prasannagowda
- From the legal field: Rekhesh Mane
The ceremony will be attended by D. Ravikumar (founder of Akshara Education Trust), former municipal corporator Ideal Gopi, Congress leader Kaleem Pasha, lawyer Geeta Mane, RT Nataraj (convener of the Backward Classes Awareness Committee), and entrepreneur Kumaresh N. The program will be presided over by Gara Srinivas, president of the organization, it was informed.
