ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 09: ‘ವಸತಿ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ವೇಳೆ ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಮಳೆ ನೀರು ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ, ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ, ಸೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಗೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು’ ಎಂದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ – ಭದ್ರಾವತಿ ನಗರಾಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಆಯುಕ್ತರಾಗಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿರುವ ಕೆಎಎಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಬಿ ಆರ್ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 09 ರಂದು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೇಟಿಯಾದ ಸುದ್ದಿಗಾರರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡಿದರು. ಮಲೆನಾಡು ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮಳೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಭವಿಷ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಲಾವೃತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಉದ್ಭವವಾಗದಂತೆ ಮಳೆ ನೀರು ಸರಾಗವಾಗಿ ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುವ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳು ಅಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ವೇಳೆ ಸುವ್ಯವಸ್ಥಿತ ಕಾಲುವೆಗಳ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗುವ ಲೇಔಟ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿನ ಆಯ್ದ ಪಾರ್ಕ್ ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೋಜನೆ ರೂಪಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ವಾತಾವರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಕ್ರಮಗಳ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನದತ್ತ ಚಿತ್ತ ಹರಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಶಿವರಾಂ ಕಾರಂತ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ, ಭದ್ರಾವತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣವಾಗುವ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಸೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಮಾದರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಜನಾ ಬದ್ದ – ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತವಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುವುದು ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿಂತನೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸದ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದಿಂದ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಸತಿ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ವಿವರವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿ ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೆನೆ. ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಕಾನೂನು ತೊಡಕುಗಳಿವೆ. ಕಾಲಮಿತಿಯೊಳಗೆ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹರಿಸಿ, ಅರ್ಹ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೆ ಸೌಲಭ್ಯ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವ ನಿಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದರು.
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗದಂತಹ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ನಗರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ಅವಕಾಶ ತಮಗೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ ಅರಿತು ಅತ್ಯಂತ ದಕ್ಷತೆಯಿಂದ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಿ ಇದೇ ವೇಳೆ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯೊಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಬಿ ಆರ್ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಅವರು ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Shivamogga, April 09: “During the construction of housing layouts, proper stormwater drains will be built to ensure smooth flow of rainwater, mini forests will be developed in selected parks, and layouts will be developed in a sector model,” said B. R. Manjunath, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Shivamogga – Bhadravati Urban Development Authority.
Speaking to reporters on April 09, he explained that Shivamogga, being part of the Malnad region, receives heavy rainfall. To prevent flooding in the future, well-planned stormwater drains are essential. He emphasized that in his tenure, priority will be given to constructing systematic drains in new housing projects.
He also mentioned that plans will be made to grow small forests in parks within new layouts, in line with the Malnad climate, focusing on eco-friendly initiatives.
Citing Bengaluru’s Shivaram Karanth Layout, which was developed in a sector model, he expressed his vision to adopt a similar structured and well-planned approach for new layouts in Shivamogga and Bhadravati.
Currently, he is reviewing details of housing projects being implemented by the authority. He acknowledged certain legal hurdles but assured that steps will be taken to resolve them within the stipulated time and provide facilities to eligible citizens.
Manjunath said he considers it a privilege to serve in a major city like Shivamogga and promised to discharge his responsibilities with utmost efficiency.
