ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಜನವರಿ 21: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ 1 ನೇ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪ – ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ನಡುವಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಅಗಲೀಕರಣಕ್ಕೆ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಪಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಡಿ (ಲೋಕೋಪಯೋಗಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ) ಗೆ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಕೆಹೆಚ್’ಬಿ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಕ್ಷೇಮಾಭಿವೃದ್ದಿ ಸಂಘದ ನೇತೃತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು, ಪಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಡಿ ಸಹಾಯಕ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್ (ಎಇ) ಕೃಷ್ಣಾರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಅವರ ಮೂಲಕ ಪಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಡಿ ಸಚಿವರು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಲಾಖೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆಮನವಿ ಪತ್ರ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ವಿನೋಬನಗರ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಚೌಕಿಯಿಂದ ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪದವರೆಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಚತುಷ್ಪಥ ಮಾರ್ಗವಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪದಿಂದ ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ನಡುವಿನ ರಸ್ತೆ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಕಿರಿದಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಹನಗಳ ಸಂಚಾರ ದಟ್ಟಣೆ ದಿನದಿಂದ ದಿನಕ್ಕೆ ಏರಿಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಅಪಘಾತಗಳ ಪ್ರಮಾಣವೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಈ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದ ಸದರಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಅಗಲೀಕರಣಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮನವಿ ಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ.
ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ಸಮೀಪದ ಸೇತುವೆ ಬಳಿ ಕೆರೆ ನಾಲೆ ಹಾದು ಹೋಗಿದ್ದು, ರಸ್ತೆ ಬದಿ ಸೂಕ್ತ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆಯಿಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕೊಂಚ ಎಚ್ಚರ ತಪ್ಪಿದರೂ ವಾಹನ ಸವಾರರು ಸುಮಾರು ಏಳೆಂಟು ಅಡಿ ಆಳದ ನಾಲೆಗೆ ಬೀಳುವಂತಹ ದುಃಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿದೆ. ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಸದರಿ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ರಕ್ಷಣಾ ತಡೆಗೋಡೆ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪ ಸರ್ಕಲ್, ಜೆ ಹೆಚ್ ಪಟೇಲ್ ಬಡಾವಣೆಯ ಪಂಚಮುಖಿ ದೇವಾಲಯ ತಿರುವು, ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ಬಳಿ ವಾಹನಗಳ ವೇಗ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕೆ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ರಸ್ತೆ ಉಬ್ಬು, ರಿಫ್ಲೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಲೈಟ್, ಸೂಚನಾ ಫಲಕಗಳ ಅಳವಡಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ನಾಗರೀಕರು ಮನವಿ ಪತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
ಈ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳ ಸಂಘದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷರಾದ ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತ ಬಿ ರೇಣುಕೇಶ್, ಮುಖಂಡರಾದ ಅಕ್ಷಯ್, ಅಭಿನಂದನ್, ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪದ ಯುವ ರೈತ ಮುಖಂಡರಾದ ಮುಸ್ಸೀಗೌಡ, ನಿಜಾಮ್ ಮೊದಲಾದವರಿದ್ದರು.
ನಗರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದರೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಯಾಗದ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ..!
*** ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಹುತೇಕ ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹಾಗೂ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳನ್ನು ದ್ವಿ ಪಥ ಹಾಗೂ ಚತುಷ್ಪಥ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಾಗಿ ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೇರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ 1 ನೇ ವಾರ್ಡ್ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿ ಸೋಮಿನಕೊಪ್ಪ – ಪ್ರೆಸ್ ಕಾಲೋನಿ ನಡುವಿನ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು, ವಾಹನಗಳ ದಟ್ಟಣೆಗೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ವೈಜ್ಞಾನಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೇರಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಡಿ ಇಲಾಖೆ ಮಾಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಅನುದಾನದ ಕೊರತೆಯ ನೆಪವನ್ನು ಇಲಾಖೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತದೆ. ಸದರಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯ ಇಕ್ಕೆಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ‘ಪ್ರಭಾವಿ’ಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸ್ಥಿರಾಸ್ತಿಗಳೇನಾದರೂ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಇಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಸದರಿ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಕೂಡ ಪಿಡಬ್ಲ್ಯೂಡಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ದಿಪಡಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಜನಸಾಮಾನ್ಯರು ದೂರುತ್ತಾರೆ.
Demand for widening of State Highway between Sominakoppa – Press Colony within Shivamogga Municipality limits
Shivamogga, January 21: Residents of Shivamogga City Corporation Ward No. 1 have urged the Public Works Department (PWD) to take action for widening the State Highway stretch of about 1 km between Sominakoppa and Press Colony. under the leadership of the KHB Press Colony Residents’ Welfare Association, local residents submitted a memorandum through PWD Assistant Engineer (AE) Krishnareddy to the PWD Minister and senior officials of the department.
Currently, the road from Vinobanagar Police Chowki to Sominakoppa is a four-lane stretch. However, the section between Sominakoppa and Press Colony within the municipal limits is very narrow. Traffic congestion on this highway is increasing day by day, and the number of accidents is also rising. Therefore, the memorandum has demanded that the highway be widened scientifically.
Near the Press Colony bridge, a stream passes by, but there is no proper retaining wall along the roadside. Even a slight lapse in attention could cause vehicles to fall into the stream, which is about 7–8 feet deep. Residents have strongly urged that protective barriers be constructed at this spot immediately.
At Sominakoppa Circle, J.H. Patel Layout’s Panchamukhi Temple junction, and near Press Colony, residents have requested the installation of scientific speed breakers, reflector lights, and signboards to control vehicle speed. On this occasion, the association’s president, journalist B. Renukesh, leaders Akshay and Abhinandan, and young leaders from Sominakoppa such as Musseegowda and Nizam were present.
