ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ (shivamogga), ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 05: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡಂತಿರುವ, ಅಬ್ಬಲಗೆರೆ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಪಂಚಾಯ್ತಿ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ವೇಳೆ ತಲೆದೋರಿದ್ದ ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಗ್ರಾಪಂ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಮರೋಪಾದಿ ಕ್ರಮಕೈಗೊಂಡಿದೆ.
ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿದ್ದ ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಕುರಿತಂತೆ 15/03/2026 ರಂದು ‘ಉದಯ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ’ ನ್ಯೂಸ್ ವೆಬ್’ಸೈಟ್ ವಿಶೇಷ ವರದಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಆಡಳಿತದ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ನಡೆಸಿತ್ತು. ಇದರ ಬೆನ್ನಲ್ಲೆ ತಾಲೂಕು ಪಂಚಾಯ್ತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಬ್ಬಲಗೆರೆ ಗ್ರಾಪಂ ಆಡಳಿತ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಪರಿಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಂದಾಗಿದ್ದವು.

ಗ್ರಾಪಂ ಆಡಳಿತಾಧಿಕಾರಿ ಸಂತೋಷ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಪಿಡಿಓ ರಾಜಪ್ಪರವರು ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿಯಿತ್ತು ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಈ ನಡುವೆ ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಗ್ರಾಪಂ ಆಡಳಿತ ಬೋರ್’ವೆಲ್ ಕೊರೆಯಿಸಿದ್ದು, ಉತ್ತಮ ನೀರು ಲಭ್ಯವಾಗಿದೆ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಹೊಸ ಬೋರ್’ವೆಲ್’ಗೆ ಪೈಪ್’ಲೈನ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಕೂಡ ನಡೆಸಿದೆ.
ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಸದರಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದ ಖಾಸಗಿ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳ ಅಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎರಡು ಬೋರ್’ವೆಲ್ ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಾಡಿಗೆ ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮುಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಈ ಮೂಲಕ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಅವಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ತಲೆದೋರದಂತೆ ಅಗತ್ಯವಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕ್ರಮಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಾಪಂ ಆಡಳಿತ ಮೂಲಗಳು ಮಾಹಿತಿ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ.
ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತತ್ವಾರ!: ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡಂತಿರುವ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಕೂಡ ಒಂದಾಗಿದೆ. ಸರಿಸುಮಾರು ಒಂದೂವರೆ ಸಾವಿರಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಜನರು ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಎರಡು ಬೋರ್’ವೆಲ್ ಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಶುದ್ಧ ಕುಡಿಯುವ ನೀರಿನ ಘಟಕ ಕೂಡ ಇದೆ.
ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ದಿನಕ್ಕೊಮ್ಮೆ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಕಳೆದ ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ಇದೇ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಆರಂಭವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀರಿನ ಬೇಡಿಕೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅಗತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಗುಣವಾಗಿ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ.
ಇದರಿಂದ ದೈನಂದಿನ ಗೃಹ ಬಳಕೆಗೆ ನೀರಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಸಂಕಷ್ಟ ಪಡುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ದಿನನಿತ್ಯ ಪರದಾಡುವಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಗೋಳು ಕೇಳುವವರೇ ಯಾರೂ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿದೆ’ ಎಂದು ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರು ಅಳಲು ತೋಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಎದುರಾಗಿರುವ ನೀರಿನ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗೆ ಶಾಶ್ವತ ಪರಿಹಾರ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವತ್ತ ಆಡಳಿತ ಚಿತ್ತ ಹರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಂಡಂತಿರುವ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಬೊಮ್ಮನಕಟ್ಟೆ ಬಡಾವಣೆಗೆ ಜಲ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಿಂದ ತುಂಗಾ ನದಿ ನೀರು ಪೂರೈಕೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಸದರಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬಸವನಗಂಗೂರು ಗ್ರಾಮಕ್ಕೂ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಗ್ರಾಮಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಅನುಕೂಲವಾಗಲಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಒತ್ತಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದರು.
Shivamogga : ‘Udaya Saakshi’ Report Outcome – Solution to Basavanagnguru Village’s Water Crisis!

Renukesh | Shivamogga, April 05: Basavanagnguru village, which falls under Abbalagere Gram Panchayat and is located near Shivamogga city, had been facing severe water scarcity during the summer. Following a special report published by Udaya Saakshi News Website highlighting the issue, the Panchayat administration took immediate action to resolve the crisis.
After the report drew attention, the Taluk Panchayat and Abbalagere Gram Panchayat officials stepped in. Panchayat Executive Officer Santosh and PDO Rajappa visited the village to inspect the situation. A new borewell was dug, which has yielded good water, and pipelines have already been laid to supply it.
Additionally, the Panchayat has decided to rent two private borewells in the village to ensure sufficient supply during the summer. With these measures, authorities claim that the water problem will not resurface this season.
Background of the crisis: Basavanagnguru is one of the larger villages near Shivamogga, with a population of over 1,500. Until now, water was supplied through two borewells and a purified drinking water unit. Supply was limited to once every two days, which had been the situation for several months. With the onset of summer, demand increased, and residents struggled without adequate water for daily household needs.
Villagers had expressed their distress, saying, “We are suffering daily without water, and nobody seems to listen to our grievances.”
Locals are urging the administration to provide a permanent solution. They suggest that, just as water from the Tunga River is supplied to Bommanakatte locality under the municipal limits, the same arrangement should be extended to Basavanagnguru village. This, they say, would greatly benefit the residents.
